Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Erickson ratchet tie-down strap. This is a heavy-duty ratcheting tie-down strap with chains that lets you secure your cargo to your truck or to your trailer. It is going to be ideal for your commercial and non-commercial over the road applications. It's got the sturdy ratcheting ratchet that's going to help maintain that maximum tension on your strap, so that you make sure that your items aren't moving around.
It is very easy to use. It's got this nice large bar handle that provides a solid grip, easy to wrap your fingers around so that you can easily ratchet it down.We are going to have 25 feet of a durable two inch wide polyester webbing. This does also have a built-in web clamp to it. So once you have all the webbing pulled out to the length that you need, you can put the extra excess in here. It will clamp down to hold that in place, so you don't have to worry about that flapping around in the wind or anything like that.
This does also have a one foot chain on each end that will allow you to secure your cargo. Especially if you have abrasive edges on your cargo, you're not going to have to worry about those potentially causing damage to your polyester webbing. Just have a chain portion over top of that.We also have the durable steel hooks that are going to provide that nice, strong hassle-free connection to anchor. It Points down so you just simply get that attached to any of your anchor points. And that will give you a nice, strong connection there.
This is going to have a maximum load or break strength of 10,000 pounds. Keep in mind that is the max. If you have anything more than about 3,333 pounds, you will want to get an extra strap because that is the safe working load limit for this strap. So, anything more than that you'll need another strap, but it is rated for up to 10,000 pounds of breaking strength. So, with our 25 feet of webbing and our two feet of chain, that's going to take us up to 27 feet total. So, it's going to give us lots of room to work with, to strap down any of our items in our truck or trailer.
That's going to complete our look at the Erickson ratchet tie-down strap. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.
