Note: Tie-down chains must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the chains being used. For example, if you are using chains with a WLL of 4,000 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 8,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 chains to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use chains in pairs.

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, I'm gonna take a look at the Durabilt 14 foot long transport chain with the grab and the slip hooks. Has a 6,600 pound working load limit. Now, this transport chain has these 3/8th inch integrated hooks which are ideal for securing heavy loads. The grab hook, which is on this side, I'm gonna zoom in and show ya, the grab hook will make it easy to connect to an anchor point and you can always tell a grab hook, 'cause it'll have a narrow straight sided throat, which is designed to hold the link of chain. The other hook on this is a slip hook.
This slip hook will create a nice secure connection. They usually have a wide throat that allow the chain or the rope to flow freely through the hook. You can see this one also has the keeper on it. Now, this chain is ideal for low binding tie downs, towing and logging. It is a grade 70 heat-treated carbon steel, which is very durable.
The chain has a zinc plating to resist corrosion. This is manufactured to NACM, CCMTA, and the DOT Department of Transportation requirements. Again, the specs on this, the safe working load limit is 6,600 pounds. The length thickness on this chain is 3/8th of an inch, and the total length again is 14 feet. Now, one last note I do want to mention is that tie down chains like this must be chosen according to their safe working load limit.
So, the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the chains that are being used. So just for an example, if you're using chains that have a working load limit of 4,000 pounds each, to tie down a load that weighs 8,000 pounds, you're gonna need at least two chains to safely secure that load. And it is always recommended that you use chains in pairs. But that should do it for the review on the Durabilt 14 foot long transport chain with the grab and the slip hooks..
