Video Transcript for Review of Durabilt Chain Tie Downs - DU97MR

Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at this Durabilt 3/8 inch by 12 foot long transport chain with the grab and the slip hooks. Has a 6,600 pound working load limit. Now, this transport chain with the integrated hooks is ideal for securing heavy loads, so it's ideal for load binding, tie-downs, towing and logging. Want to zoom in and show you, they do use a grade 70 heat-treated carbon steel, which is very durable.

You can see the yellow zinc plating is resist corrosion. Now, it has two different types of hooks on it. The grab hook, which is this one right here, makes it very easy to connect to any anchor point. Grab hooks will always have the open design without a safety latch. And on the other end, it has this slip hook, which creates a nice secure connection.

The slip hooks will always have a closed design using this safety latch. Now, this is manufactured to NACM, CCMTA, and Department of Transportation requirements. Total length on this chain, again, is 12 feet. Safe working load limit is 6,600 pounds. It is a G70 grade chain.

The length thickness on it is 3/8 of an inch. Now, one note I do wanna mention is tie-down chains like this must be chosen according to their safe working load limit. The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the chains that are being used. So, to give you an example, if you're using chains that have a working load limit of 4,000 pounds each to tie down a load that weighs 8,000 pounds, then you're gonna need at least two chains to safely secure that load. And it is always recommended that you use chains in pairs.

But that should do it for the review on this Durabilt 3/8 inch by 12 foot long transport chain with the grab and slip hooks..
