I was surprised to see when I opened up my delivery and saw the strap, it was they exact strap that when I bought my boat came with. and I give 8 years of worry free for this strap. etrailer has GREAT product that have nice quality stuff. I always hesitate to go all Stars on anything but this one is close. Excellent product in terms of design and it works great. Have used a lot of these over the years and I'd say these are the best I've found.

One thing worth noting, I am a fishing guide and this item sees daily use in all types of conditions.

Only improvement I could see is eliminating the rubber coated hooks and going straight galvanized. The rubber looks great and lasted on my almost exactly a year before it were off which is pretty impressive. A bit of rust on them, but of course traveling here in our mtns in the winter any metal stuff takes a beating from road salt even if if keep everything clean.

Jeff, Thank you for your review. I appreciate your information about the rubber coating on the hooks, they are rubber coated so they do not scratch your boat or trailer. We do have stainless steel hooks available that are also 2x10. Part # IMF12069 handles 333 lbs compared to the 400 lb straps you already have. I hope this helps.

The gunwale strap that holds my Gheenoe on the trailer is very old, so I wanted to buy a new one. The distance from one tie-down over the boat to the other is only 7 ft. I ordered the shortest strap ( 10 ft ) & incorrectly assumed that when the strap was tightened, it would fit. Unfortunately, that is not the case, & the buckle hangs down past the opposite tie-down when fully tightened. The new strap looks very nice, but it just doesn't work for me.138042

This strap has a long fix end so that the buckle ends up between the gunwales of the boat. Some competing straps have a short end so the buckle ends up along the side of the boat. The strap is smooth like a seat belt, and the buckle works easily with a cam action to tighten the belt as the buckle is closed. This 10 foot strap was perfect for my boat and trailer where the hook to hook distance is about 106 inches. The keepers on the hooks work well but can be easily removed if you don't want to use them.147557

I've used these boat straps before and liked them. These straps are easy to put on and easy to take off. Just pull it tight and snap the snap and you're done. Ken724862

Boat Buckle 10' tie down straps are perfect for tie down of 8' inflatable dingy to Dinghy Ramp support bars. Much easier to use than the ratchet straps provided with the product.707853

I purchased the straps to replace a 30 yr old strap which finally outlived it’s purpose. These straps addressed the issues I had with the original strap. Especially the metal clasp on the fiberglass hull. I really like the Velcro holder which holds the slack part of the strap once the strap is tightened up. 574809
