Video Transcript for Review of TRC Enclosed Trailer Parts - Ramp Door Spring - 362SA8

Today we're going to take a look at the conventional single spring ramp door spring for the eight-foot wide enclosed trailers. It has 150-pound capacity. You can replace your old trailer door spring with this heavy-duty, conventional ramp door spring. Application for this part is the eight-foot wide trailers. Now this ramp door spring lets you easily lift and lower the door on your enclosed trailer without the risk of injury because it'll help take on the weight of your trailer door so that you don't have to. The spring will reduce the wear, it helps prevent damage to your door hinges.

And the cable drums which are on each end of this spring. These are marked right hand and left hand, and the right-hand side when you install it should be on the curbside of the trailer. The left-hand one mark should be on the or the driver's side. This is a high sturdy steel construction. It is made in the USA. It does come with the included galvanized cable with the quarter-inch nylon eyes on each end, the brackets, and a nice set of detailed instructions on how to install it.

And just a warning on the installation. It is recommended that only individuals who have experienced winding torsion spring should install this product. If you have never worked with a torsion spring system before, we recommend contacting your local garage door company to install this system. Also, one thing I do want to mention, if you do have a smaller width trailer like less than eight feet that might have the heavy door and you'd like to use this higher capacity spring on that application, this can be modified by cutting the shaft to the shorter length and then adjusting the bracket and the cable drum to the smaller width that as needed.Basically, if you just loosen these screws on here, everything right here, you can see will be able to slide to whatever with you and to use it on. And then whatever width you decided on, you can cut off the remainder with the saw.

Few specs on this when it's mounted, the dimension, the width is going to be 94 inches wide. The depth which will include these brackets is going to be about seven and a half inches deep. Overall height is about four and seven eighths inches tall. And as I mentioned, the spring capacity on this is going to be 150 pounds, but that should do it for the review on the conventional single spring ramp door spring for the eight foot wide enclosed trailers.

This is designed for doors your size, and has a 150lb capacity which will be perfect for your door weight. I personally like the dual spring setup like this as opposed to the single spring option that way if a spring ever breaks you still have the other side to keep the door from just crashing down.
