This tie-down strap lets you secure gear to your truck bed, trailer, or cargo carrier. Cam buckle holds the strap tight over your load. Vinyl-coated S-hooks help prevent scuffs and scratches on your cargo. 1,200 lbs Max load.

Features:

  • Tie-down strap lets you secure cargo in your truck bed or trailer or on your cargo carrier or roof rack
  • Cam-lock buckle holds strap tight over your gear
  • Vinyl-coated S-hooks help prevent scratches on your cargo

Specs:

  • Strap dimensions: 2" wide x 15' long
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 400 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 1,200 lbs
  • Quantity: 1 cam buckle strap

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Video Transcript for Erickson Cam Buckle Tie-Down Strap with S-Hooks Review

Sometimes I haul some more sensitive items, a little bit bulky too, so this right here is my duck blind. So on the inside, we're gonna have some aluminum rods. I don't want to bend them. So, a traditional ratchet strap, I don't necessarily love that. I know it's not gonna go anywhere when I strap it down but with the ratchet strap, sometimes you never know how much pressure you're really putting on it. With a cam buckle strap like this, it's gonna be great.

This is about 15 foot long so it's great for my 10 foot trailer. And it is gonna be about two inches wide so it's gonna spread, whatever area it is pushing down on, it's gonna spread that pressure out a little bit. So, I like this. And with the cam buckle, you know, I'm actually just giving the tug on my own and not using the ratchet strap mechanism. That way it's gonna be nice and safe.

So, what I like about these is they aren't super heavy-duty straps. They're about 400 pounds working load limit and a break strength of about 1200 pounds. And they do have a coated hook, which with my trailer works out perfect. What I do, which I suggest you do, if you have something like this, you kind of want to go down through, and then wherever the load's gonna be going at an angle, since I'm gonna be pulling this way, I'm gonna have it like that. So then, I can go all the way across my blind and my kayak.

And then I still have plenty of room to go through my little hook on my kayak, go down through the trailer, come back up. And then, once that's done, you just basically just use it like your basic cam buckle strap. So, this way I'm not putting too much pressure on it. And with the cam buckle, I just use my hands and this just makes sure that I'm not going to over-tighten everything and bend everything up. But as you can see, it's nice and tight, both my blind and my kayak.

So that is exactly what I need just to make sure everything doesn't get damaged on the ride over. These straps being 15 foot long, they're perfect for my 10 foot trailer, they're gonna be great for your long bed trucks, but for my short bed truck, it's a little bit too big. I would suggest about an eight foot strap for something that you're tying down in the bed of your truck. But again, with these straps, I think it's more so for the lighter stuff that you need to haul around, something that really doesn't need to be cinched down really, really tight. You just need to secure it so it just won't move on the ride there. So, this is perfect for a light kayak, and of course my lightweight duck blind. And that'll do it for our look at the Erickson Cam Buckle Tie-Downs, and I'm Adam with etrailer..

I've used these straps to tie down my Piper aircraft for the last year. They have been out in the weather for all that time and are holding up very well!

Slightly faded, but after 2 years in the weather, still holding down my Piper in 40 + Knot winds!

Strap material is what I was looking for. Buckle is very strong but not too heavy. Hooks are strong but not bulky. Shipped in smallest box possible to help the environment and keep costs low. Very satisfied.

  • How to Determine if the Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Will fit Crossbars of a Vehicle
The Curt Roof Mounted Cargo Basket # C18115 that you referenced can fit crossbars that are up to 3" wide x 1-5/8" tall and are spaced 15", 22", or 29" apart on center. If the bars of your 2013 Chevy Equinox fit those requirements this would work well for you. A cargo net like the part # C18200 should work well for you, but for added peace of mind I would also recommend you use tie-downs like the # EM51215.

  • Kayak Carrier Recommendation for 2009 Ford F-150 With Factory Folding Tonneau Cover
A ladder rack is one option for transporting your kayak on your F-150 that has the dealer-installed folding tonneau cover, but note there can sometimes be interference between the common mounting requirements for tonneau covers and ladder racks since both install on the bed rails. I can offer you a simple and very cost-effective option IF your tonneau cover can handle the weight of your kayak. We offer foam block carriers that are very inexpensive, simple to install and that weigh very...
