I have used B&W hitches for many years and I've been very happy with the quality of their products. etrailer makes it easy to shop for these hitches since the B&W site is terrible. I was able to find the correct size and all dimensions were listed clearly. Thanks again!

by:

heavy solid fits thanks

by:

It is refreshing to still see American companies selling “Made in USA” quality these days.

by:

Ball mount is awesome and super high quality and heavy duty over and above what I will need to tow my 7000 pound car trailer but I like it that way! Great job to everyone involved. My hat is off to the fabricators, made in USA Mount arrived without a nick, perfect weld marks and flawless show quality paint job. I may not even use it, it is that nice. Maybe put it in a display case and start a collection. Fast shipping, 2 days

by:

Really heavy duty solid steel 2 inch square, really thick steel tongue and and tight fitting hole for the ball bolt so little chance of ball rattle or slipping. Nice smooth welding and finish.

by:

Product is extremely heavy duty. much more than I will need, but I appreciate quality made is USA products. Etrailer packaging not so great. Box was torn by weight of this item, which caused a chip in the finish of the item.

by:

Great product would purchase again.

by:

Solid shaft, weighty, but expecting a long life from it. I'll have to hunt around for someone who has the right tool for getting [torque specs] on the ball, but shouldn't be a big problem. Package tracking was excellent and on time.

by:

Made from solid bar stock. B&W Made in the USA can not go wrong. Thank you Stacy for helping me order this product.

  • Thickness of Hitch Ball Platform of B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount
The thickness of the platform the hitch ball sits on is 1 inch for the B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount # BWBMHD30011. This ball mount has a 16,000 lb capacity and 1,600 lb tongue weight capacity while giving you either a 1 inch rise or 2 inch drop. To secure it to your hitch you'll need Pin & Clip # PC3. For a hitch ball, depending on the size you need, I recommend either 2" Hitch Ball # C69FR or 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C40008. I have added a link to a video review for you to check out as well...

I also recommend The 2-5/16 inch Hitch Ball - 1-1/4 inch Diameter x 2-3/4 inch Long Shank - Chrome - 12,000 pounds # 19286, and The Pin and Clip for 2 inch and 2-1/2 inch Hitches - 5/8 inch Diameter x 3-1/4 inch Span # PC3. • How to Pick Out the Correct Rise/Drop Ball Mount to Tow a Trailer Level
The amount of drop you would need for a ball mount to use with your 2012 Range Rover Sport will depend largely on the trailer you plan on towing. The goal is to pick a ball mount that will allow your trailer to be towed as level as possible. To see how to pick out the correct ballmount rise/drop check out the FAQ article I attached to the right. It covers everything. Once you know what drop you need I also attached a link to the right that has all of the ball mounts we carry. You will...

  • Comparing B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount to Curt Heavy Duty Ball Mount
The BandW Heavy-Duty Ball Mount - 1 Rise, 2 - 8-1/2 Long - 16,000 lbs # BWBMHD30010 is very similar tot he Curt Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mount with 2-5/16" Ball - 1" Rise, 2" Drop - 15,000 lbs # C45331 which has the same hitch ball shank dimension of 1-1/4 inches as well as the same rise and drop. • Will the B and W Hitch part # BWHDRH25132 Fit a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 6 foot Bed
Yes, the B and W Heavy Duty trailer hitch part # BWHDRH25132 that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 6 foot bed that has either a standard or step bumper. For a heavy duty hitch with as much capacity as this hitch has you really aren't going to find a better deal. For a ball mount you would want the part # BWBMHD30010 and then for a 2-5/16 inch ball part # BWHB94004.

  • Replacement Hitch Ball to Increase Ball Height
It is always important to keep your trailer level when hitched to your tow vehicle and the two simplest ways to accomplish this are either a high-rise hitch ball such as the two you reviewed, parts # C40033 and # C40034, or a ball mount with the amount of rise you need. Either option will work. The hitch balls you referenced are shown in the linked photo; I have added the dimension above the mounting surface for each ball. We don't have a picture but I can tell you that once installed trailer hitch # BWHDRH25187 will have its receiver directly below the bumper and the face of the receiver will be basically flush with the rear bumper. Please note that this hitch is designed to fit a 2007 Chevy Silverado Classic 2500 with an 8 foot bed AND 10 inch step bumper. If the truck has the regular step bumper you would use # BWHDRH25189. It will also be right under the rear bumper and the receiver will be about flush...

  • What Length Ball Mount Do I Need To Use?
Longer ball mounts are helpful for creating clearance from the rear of the vehicle to allow you to lower your tailgate while towing and not interfere with a tongue mounted jack or install hitch mounted accessories (like bike racks) that may require more clearance from the rear of the vehicle. The length that you'll want to use really comes down to whether or not you really need an extra 1-3/4" between your trailer coupler and your truck. For all intents and purposes, the # BWBMHD30010...

  • Are There Any Made in the U.S.A. Heavy Duty Ball Mounts for 2" Receivers Available?
No. While Curt is an American company and manufactures a great deal of their products in the U.S.A., the Heavy Duty Forged Ball Mounts like the # C45340 is not one of those products. If you're looking for a ball mount that is made in the U.S.A., the B&W Heavy-Duty Ball Mount # BWBMHD30010 has a 16,000-lbs capacity and the same 1" rise/2" drop as the Curt model you were looking at.

The hitch you have referenced, Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # C15409, is a 2 inch receiver, and can be installed along with an OEM receiver, on your Dodge Ram 3500. The towing capacity for this hitch is 17000 lbs, and it also has a tongue weight capacity of 2550 lbs. No ball mount, clip or pin is included, so I would recommend B&W Ball Mount, part # BWBMHD30010. Good news, I can help you find a hitch that will fit your 1997 Ford E-350 Bus. The fact that this is a bus means that the cab is a Ford E-350 but the chassis is not the same as the standard van chassis. This means that you will need a bolt-on or weld-on hitch depending on your chassis' application, like Draw-Tite Class IV # 41991-16 or the same Draw-Tite hitch with shorter brackets # 41991-07.
