Installs behind the spare tire and provides an attachement point for the Surco Spare Tire 3-Bike Rack.The product is excellent, slips on underneath your spare tire bolts after removing your spare; then replace the spare to it's original location and tighten down the nuts that hold the spare. When not hauling bicycles, remove the bicycle carrier only from the backing plate by unscrewing the screw mount easily and you can even re-install your tire cover without having to remove the Backing Plate. I have used mine on my 2007 Jeep Liberty for years behind the motorhome. They should mention this vehicle (2007 Jeep Liberty and other years) in the product application advertisement. The backing Plate is so invisible with the tire cover on one could even trade in their vehicle and forget to take it off the tire Backing Plate and have to order a new one...Yep, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!
