What's up everybody It's AJ with etrailer.com. So I bought this bike rack a long time ago, maybe misplaced the cover, so I went from another vehicle that was inch and a quarter, upgraded to a two inch by two inch hitch. Well, I don't have to buy a whole new bike rack, I can just buy this separately and add it onto the bike rack, and now, it'll fit in the two inch by two inch receiver. What you're gonna get is the adapter for the shank, slide it over the bike rack, then we have the bolt that goes in right here, put our adapter in place. We're gonna use a five millimeter Allen wrench, and we're gonna do that to tighten down the bolt, so that our adapter is attached to the shank. Now, with the adapter installed, I can lift the bike rack up and put it in the hitch.
We'll come back with our anti-rattle hitch pin and ratchet, tighten it down. Now, the bike rack fits on the hitch, I can stick with the same bike rack I invested in, and I like that I can swap out parts on it. If it breaks or I lose something, I don't have to buy a whole new bike rack. I think that does it. Thanks for hanging out, I hope this helped..

Works great for light items, and being aluminum, it won't rust in place like a steel sleeve can.
This was a much better option than buying a standard reducer for a 2" hitch (which I tried and was much looser). This part allowed the bike rack to be much more stable. Etrailer has great advice and reviews. I wish I bought my hitch from them just to give them the business.
I needed an adapter sleeve so that my 1-1/4 inch Saris Bike Rack would fit my 2 inch trailer hitch. Worked Great !

The trailer hitch adapter sleeve still working fine after one year
Haven't used it yet but it fits with no issues on both the 1 1/4 bike rack and into the 2 inch hitch. Good quality product.

Works great as designed. I used it twice to haul bicycles behind an RV across country with no issues. Great product.

Both our vintage bicycles weigh in at slightly over 50lbs combined. Switching to this aluminum adapter sleeve made a difference. Virtually no 'sway' while in the class III hitch and is rated for the weight for the bicycles. Great investment.
The hitch adapter is exactly what I had hoped it would be.
It allows us to use our smaller shaft , SUV hitch hauler bike rack on our truck also. Avoiding the need to buy another hitch mounted bike rack for hundreds of dollars. Plus it avoids us needing a place to store two bike racks as opposed to one when it's not in use.
The price was competitive and fair.

I ordered this 2" adapter for an older Saris Thelma 2 bicycle hitch that fit only a 1 1/4" receiver. The package arrived quickly, looks great, fits perfectly and works great. I can now use the bicycle rack in my truck's 2" receiver with confidence.
This adapter allowed me to use a 1-1/4” bike rack with a 2” receiver. Fit is perfect and the rack does not wobble after the hitch pin is tightened. Nicely made and sturdy adapter.
So glad I found this product - what a truly great resource etrailer.com is. The adaptor fit perfectly, the rack fit our van just right and I was a family hero... for a day.

The adapter functions ok as an adapter but not a well as the adapter that came with the bike rack. There is some play even after the bolt that secures the rack is tightened.

I'm always nervous about buying online products, this adapter for a Saris bike rack fit perfect on the back of my Jeep
This adapter is beautifully made. However, it does not work with my rack -- the bolt threads are not long enough to engage the clamp. This adapter should have been accompanied by a new, longer bolt. Without it, it's useless.

Exactly what I needed to use my rack in the 2" receiver.

this item was exactly what i was looking for. nice machining and coating. the only bad is that it did not come with instructions for the bolt. but over all great product. would defiantly buy again and recommend to other people.
Product was delivered on time and would have worked perfectly but it seems my measurements were off!!

I needed a replacement part, this is exactly what I need. Quick service and delivery.
Original was plastic. The metal replacement seems much more durable.
