It sounds like you have a 2" hitch and your Schwinn bike rack has a 1-1/4" shank. While the Replacement Aluminum Hitch Adapter Sleeve # SA3032 may work, it was designed for Saris bike racks that use a 1-1/4" to 2" adapter sleeve and would not have been tested with a Schwinn bike rack.

I recommend that you use the Trailer Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # e63YR which will reduce your hitch to 1-1/4" instead of adapting the shank on your Schwinn bike rack to the hitch. You would also need an etrailer Trailer Hitch Pin and Clip # e45TR if you do not already have one that you can use.
