Replacement Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Pin for Saris Bike Racks with 1-1/4" Shanks

My 4 year old bike rack is rather beat up from heavy usage, but has another 4 years in it I’m certain. My only problem is that the locking bolt is becoming stripped, and therefore difficult to snug down. If it slips at all, the bike rack floats in the receiver, and that is an accident waiting to happen.

The quick fix was to spend a few dollars and replace the bolt mechanism.

I believe it is the exact part I need that Sarius did not give me with the bike hitch. I haven't tried the Hitch Tite yet but believe it will work and will let you all know.1556889

Great quality but why it does not comes with the small nut that attaches with a screw to the big adapter. I will use the nut from the broken one!558920

This pin does stop the clunking around of my bike rack. It is NOT quick or convenient as it needs to be tightened with a socket or other wrench. Great for over the road and because it's not quickly removed. A slight theft deterrent as well.242710

Reasonably wellI filed off a bunch of the threads because otherwise it took about 15-20 revolutions to get it close to being tight

The and pin are still working well. Unfortunately, some other parts on my Saris rack have failed.

The product I ordered replaced components of a trailer mounted Schwinn bicycle rack. Saved me from replacing the whole rack which would have cost hundreds of dollars.
