Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the replacement brake shoes for your Dexter Uni-Servo and Duo-Servo 12 inch by two inch hydraulic drum brake assembly. Now, these are replacement primary and secondary brake shoes for the Dexter 12 inch by two inch drum brake assembly. These will work on the Uni-Servo assembly, which has the single plunger from the wheel cylinder, or they will also work on the Duo-Servo, which has a plunger on each side of the wheel cylinder. It does include the two brake shoes for one brake assembly.
Now, thing I wanted to mention to you is there's the shorter pad, which is this one. If you look at the length of the pad, you can see the shoe goes, or the pad goes, from here to here. Over here, it's all the way from here to here. The shorter pad is the primary shoe, and that shoe will always face the front of the trailer. The longer pad is the secondary shoe, and that always face the rear of the trailer.
So these brake shoes can be used on either left hand or right hand side. Now, when we mention these are a 12 inch by two inch size, what that's telling you is when these are installed onto the brake assembly, the 12 inch measurement is gonna be the diameter from here to here. So basically, when these are installed correctly, they should be right at about 12 inches diameter. And when we say two inches, that's the width of the pad on the brake shoe. But that should do it for the review on this replacement brake shoes for the Dexter Uni-Servo and Duo-Servo 12 inch by two inch hydraulic drum brake assemblies.
