Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the Dexter Shoe and Lining Kit for your 12x2 inch electric brake assembly. So this is a way to replace the shoe and lining or that outer part of your brake assembly. It's a good idea to get two of these, so you can do one for either side of your axle. You don't really want to just do one side because then your brakes will start to wear unevenly, so it's a good idea to do both at the same time while you're already getting the trailer up in the air and getting access to the one side of your axle. That's pretty much the hardest part anyway, so you might as well do both.
So let's take a closer look, make sure that this is the right fit for your application.Again, this works for a 12 inch diameter by two inch wide brake assembly. This is going to be for your 7,000 pound axles. It includes both your primary and secondary brake shoes with the lining, two hold down pins, and your two shoe hold down springs, so we'll have those guys there. The way to tell the difference on which side goes where is the shorter lining goes towards the front and the longer piece goes towards the rear. So with this one, the sides are pretty much the same, so you just flip it from one side to the other to make sure that it's in the right orientation for your application.

Designed for brakes that adjust manually.I had a grease seal malfunction and ruin one set of new brake shoes. Shawnee helped me and in quick order, had my parts identified. She suggested an expedited ground service. I had my parts promptly and they fit perfectly. Shawnee made my worries go away and my 5th wheel is rolling again. etrailer has my highest recommendation.
We go to your website when we need parts for trailers that is difficult to find at stores because they are not in stock and/or price too high.
These pads didn't come with the rivets installed to connect the springs. We ended up having to cut them off of the old pads and weld them on. They also don't seem to automatically tighten even though they have the automatic tighteners installed on them. I understand this isn't the entire assembly but he would at least think it would come with the parts necessary to install them without having to weld spring connection points to them. Other than that, they seem to be an exact replacement.
just what I wanted good product good service arrived on time
etrailer service and shipping is excellent! These shoes are horrible and are unsafe which will cause injuries and fatalities! My trailers are seldom used and driven gently. The bonding on these shoes often fails and locks the brake up without warning! Once they have some age, the lining can be pulled off by hand! Hoping the replacements would be riveted, but are not!
Service was excellent and professional. Shipping was also very fast. As of the writing of this review, I have not yet installed them.

Shoes are great, though it would be less hassle if your will call deck was open. I'm only 15 minutes away.
