Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at inaudible dot com today we're taking a quick look at the 12 volt socket charging port. So this is going to let you charge all of your 12 volt accessories, things that use that kind of cigarette lighter charging piece. So things like your air compressors, some other accessories, maybe a toaster or other stuff that might run off of that type of plug. So you can install this in your RV on your boat, any off-road vehicles to utilize that power. So it comes with a little nut ring, and this can just be easily removed since the socket has these flat sides on either side of it and our nut just has the threads on two sides as well. So if you match that up with those flat sides, you can just push it up and then turn it maybe a quarter or half turn to get that all tightened down. The plastic construction that is durable enough to withstand years of service.
So it should be a nice long-lasting plug for you. If you want to mount this to a plate, we do have a couple options. One is going to be a single outlet. The other one's going to be a dual outlet so you can double it up and maybe have two of these, or one and a USB port like this, right side by side. That USB is sold separately, so you can pick that up right here at etrailer.com.
The plates as well you can get here using part numbers 37215155 for the single port, or for the double plate it's going to be 37215165. So you can find those, have a nice backing plate for your socket to sit in and then mount that to your wall.As far as the charge with our 12 volt charge obviously coming out of there we'll have the two posts to connect to. Silver one is going to have a little tiny minus sign; that's going to be our negative terminal. The coppery one is going to have a little plus sign; that's going to be our positive terminal. So just those two connections to make for our electrical. As far as the size, rough cutout, I'd say you need at least an inch hole to fit this into, maybe an inch and a eighth.
Outside diameter is going to be about an inch and a half. Total length is about two inches. The actual amount that's going back into whatever surface we're mounting this to is going to be about an inch and seven, eighths. The cylinder is about an inch and half. But that's pretty much all there is to it for our charging port with the 12 volt socket. Again, those other accessories that I mentioned earlier, you can find right here at etrailer.com, so definitely check them out if you're interested.
We also have a lot of other accessories, replacement parts, and things for any adventure that you might have out there on the road, so definitely check out those things if you're interested. Thanks for watching and we'll see you next time.
