12 Volt Power Port Needed in RV to Power Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System

Question:

HI We just set up the 4 camera Furrion system using the cigarette lighter adapter which came with our system. We would like to use the monitor in the camper so we can view around the camper when we are inside. Which adapter should we purchase in order to do this?

The Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System w/ Side Marker Light Cameras, # FCE48TASL-05 is a 12VDC system. If you have a 12VDC power port in the RV simply use the same Furrion Monitor Power Cable, # C-FOS07TAPK-006. If you do not have a 12V power port, you can install one with the 12V Power Outlet for RVs, # 37215105 and the Mounting Plate for 12V Socket or USB Outlet, # 37215155. Or, you can buy another Furrion Monitor Power Cable, # C-FOS07TAPK-006 and cut off the adapter plug end then run a length of 16 gauge wiring # 16-1-1 (sold by the foot) directly to the trailer battery and connect it with a ring terminal such as # DW05702-1.

Please be aware that you will need to wire the cameras of the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Observation Camera System w/ Side Marker Light Cameras - 5" Screen, # FCE48TASL-05 differently to use them when you are not hooked up to your tow vehicle, or you would need to find a way to send power to only the running light circuit from your trailer's battery when you are hooked up to shore power.

How we typically recommend you do this is running a power wire to each camera yourself and then connecting them to a switch like the Single Rocker Switch with Bezel # 37212225. From the switch you will go directly to the battery in your trailer. Doing this will power the cameras from the battery of your trailer so they will work even when your trailer is not hooked up to your tow vehicle, but you will need to turn the switch on when you are towing or the cameras will not be on.
