Do Tire Valve Stems Come Included with Tires That Are Purchased Unmounted

Question:

Do tires come with tire valve stems? Or do we purchase them separately?

Expert Reply:

Tires that are sold alone, not pre-mounted on a rim/wheel, do not include valve stems but we do offer these as separate items. Tires that are pre-mounted and sold with a rim/wheel do of course include the valves.

I have linked you to the various parts available, which include both metal and rubber types and in various psi ratings, such as # AM20906.

I did tell them the old tires I had on were almost 15 years old so they should have known to change them. Just inconvenience that I have to go back and dish out more money because of some ones laziness.

Yeah, it seems like they probably just skipped this step when mounting the new tires. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Please just let me know if any more questions pop up.

I got 4 new tires, they didnt replace the valve stems , I told the guy when I bought the tires which still looked good that the tires where 15 years old, now 2 years later with only 1500 miles on the tires and not driven in the winter all 4 valve stems are crack, very unsafe, most people wouldnt have noticed, I always thought they put new valve stems on when you get new tires.

The valve stems are typically replaced when getting new tires mounted at a shop. They may have inspected them and determined they didn't need to be changed, but that's really just a guess. It may have also been overlooked. I went ahead and added a link that will take you right to our valve stem selection.
