Video Transcript for Americana Tire Inflation and Repair - Valve Stems - AM20907 Review

Today we're going to review part number AM20907. This is the high pressure rubber snap-in valve stem. It has a maximum pressure of 100 PSI. These tubular snap-in valves for high pressure applications are usually designed for medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers, and must be used when their recommended cold inflation pressure exceeds the 65 PSI. These high pressure snap-in valves that will fit the 0.625 rim hole . which is what this will fit into .. will allow a maximum cold inflation of 100 PSI.

These are typically used in steel wheels high pressure snap-in valves. They combine a thicker rubber snap-in base with the metal barrel, which you can see right here, and the plastic cap that goes over. The effective length of this valve stem, which is measured once it's installed into the wheel . the effective length will be measured from the wheel up to the top here. On this one, the effective length youre looking at about 1 1/4 inch. Again, this fits the rim hole diameter of 0.625.

The wheels that have that size rim hole are usually 16 inches inaudible 00:01:16, because they are used in the medium and heavy duty trucks and trailers. That should do it for the review of part number Am20907, the high pressure rubber snap-in valve stem with the 100 PSI maximum pressure. .

I recently discovered etrailer while searching for a specific Valve Stem. Not only did they have the item I was looking for, but their selection was vast, and the prices were competitive. The website was easy to navigate, and the product descriptions were informative and accurate. I was pleasantly surprised by the fast shipping and the care they took in packaging my order. I’m thrilled with my purchase and will continue to shop at etrailer.

by:

Ordered with tires and bearings, races, seals. Seals had spring-tension around the lip which were like my original 1966 Alloy trailer seals! (Had been looking for that type for over 30 years). Even cotter pin supplied with bearings. Everything I needed in short order.

by:

Recommended by customer service. Was happy to have them.

by:

Other dealers claim to have the parts I need....l placed the order then 4 business days I get an email saying not available for 3 to 4 weeks...that's not what your website said. Then I have to wait 5 more business days to get my money back. Yes their prices was better but I contacted you guys at etrailer and gave you my list of parts needed. 5 days later UPS is knocking on my door and unloading my parts. I could never be more happier at this moment....Thanks etrailer
My new found friends.

Great service always , thank you

Haven't had them installed but they look like they will work fine. I going to use them on the Rv with a TPMS system.

Great, I needed these because I have a Tire Minder system on my trailer. No worrying about air leaks due to the sender attached to the value stem.

by:

Shipped very fast good heavy duty valve stem at reasonable price

by:

I run about 78 psi in my rv tires never had a problem before with the 65 psi valve stem. Recently checked the tires and two of them was low down to 40 psi the rubber had turned lose from the metal tube from the higher pressure was the only thing we could figure happen. luck has it it was in my shop and had not damaged the tires as they were installed in the fall. The shop did not have the 100 psi stem for the bigger rim hole I had saw these on etrailer before an ordered them. Luckiy I was not on the road somewhere. The other two tires did the same thing before I could get them fixed with the new stems. The trailer came with the higher psi but that was 20+ years ago Thanks etrailer. For fast service

Still working great.

Awesome service. Extremely fast shippin g.

by:

Great valve stem for my new galvanize trailer rims, perfect fit great quality.

by:

Perfect for E rated trailer tires

by:

not much to say, they are valve stems. they haven't blown out after 1 year of use.

by:

as usual it is always better than great it is fantastic. Have a good day.

by:

The wheels were exactly what I needed and wanted for a very good price. The trailer light package was of good quality and for a great price. However, the valve stems ordered were for the wheels and the did not fit because the diameter was too large. I had purchased ones that fit when I had my tires mounted at big O. Over all that was a minor issue and I will gladly depend on etrailer for all my trailer needs. Thanks so much!

by:

Great price

by:

Haven't installed them yet but the quality is great.

by:

Interestingly, these Valve Stems do expire with time. When replacing tires, recommend one also replace the valve stems (Really saves headaches). Original lasted 12 years. Small leaks developed where the brass stem comes out of the rubber. Also, a little sideways pressure on the valve stem can confirm leaks originating at the hole where it comes out of the wheel.

by:

These valves are for 16" and larger wheels - not stated in the description. For 15" or smaller wheels use the 80 psi stem.

by:

Its a valve stem. It fit the hole. It doesn't leak.

Still holding air, like they should...

by:

They are well made and probably would have worked with steel wheels but didn't work with the aluminum wheels I bought

by:

This part was not available at my local Auto Parts Stores. Quickly found it at etrailer, made the purchase and it was shipped to my shop with no waiting in line or driving 6 miles in traffic etc. Product is quality. Fast shipping.

by:

Not the correct size for these wheels. Too big for the valve stem holes and all three broke when installer tried to insert them. He gave me three of theirs.

by:

Worked as it should. A “must change” item when replacing your trailer tires…

by:

These valves are for larger wheels (be sure to measure your valve stem hole first or call they are very helpful). For 15" or smaller wheels use the 80 psi stem. 663115.

by:

Just as described. Good quality. Fast shipping. Very good company to work with for trailer purchases/needs.

The valve stem that comes with the part # TA25FR is rated for up to 65 psi. You can replace the valve stem if you need a higher psi. I went out to our warehouse and physically looked at the Aluminum HWT Series S5 Trailer Wheel - 16" x 6-1/2" Rim - 6 on 5-1/2 - Black # AM22658HWTB for you. There is no psi rating on the wheel. I reached out to my contact at HWT and they stated the psi will be limited by the valve stem used. So I checked the valve stems and the chrome-plated brass # AM20906 is not compatible due to the washer and nut on the outside. You can use the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem -...

  • What PSI Should Trailer Tires Be Run At
Trailer wheels typically do not have psi ratings as that refers more to the tire and valve stem. With the Lionshead # LH37FR having a rubber valve stem like the # AM20907, these will be rated to 100 psi and under. If you wanted to get a tire that runs a higher psi rating, you will need the Americana # AM20906. This will be rated for anything over 100 psi. As to what psi to run your tires at, you will want to run them at the psi that offers the most even wear on the tires. Too high will...

  • Can I Determine the psi Rating of a Wheel
Since wheels will be able to withstand the psi rating of any of the tires that are meant to fit it you will need to look at the valve stem as that is the deciding factor. If your valve stem has the rubber all the way up to the threads, like part # AM20903, then it will be rated around 65 psi. If there is some reinforcement between the rubber and the threads, like part # AM20904 or # AM20907, then your valve stem can be rated between 80 and 100 psi. The only valve stems that are rated for...

  • How to Tell if a Wheel is Rated for 100 psi
To use tires rated for 110 psi on your current wheels you just need to make sure they have a metal valve stem like part # AM20906. The highest rated rubber valve stem available is only rated for 100 psi which we carry as part # AM20907. Anything over 100 psi needs to have a metal valve stem.

  • 2011 Montana 5th Wheel Trailer Keeps Blowing Tires on Passenger Side
Trailer tires should always be inflated to the maximum psi indicated on the tire. If the ones you have now are rated for 80 psi then you will need to put 80 psi in them. This is because trailer tires are built with a thicker sidewall than passenger vehicle tires. If under inflated that thicker sidewall causes excessive heat build up and failure. The valve stem material does not matter as long as the valve stem is rated high enough. For example, valve stem # AM20907 is rated for up to 100...

  • When Should You Replace The Valve Stems On Your Trailer
Since most valve stems are rubber they will start to dry rot and should typically be replaced at the same time you replace your tires. When looking for new valve stems you'll want to ensure that they're rated for the PSI of your tires and the correct size for the valve stem hole in the wheel. For example, the Americana High Pressure Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem # AM20907 you were looking at has a 100 PSI rating and fits a 0.625" diameter hole. Wheels 16" and up in diameter typically have...

The Americana Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel, Item # AM20134, can be used with tires at 80 psi so long as the tires fit the wheel and you do not exceed the wheel's maximum capacity of 1,250-lbs. Yes, if the existing wheels on your trailer indicate a psi rating of 110 with a stamped number this would refer to its max psi. Typically on a trailer wheel it isn't really the wheel itself that dictates max psi but the valve stem that is used. An easy way to further verify that the wheels are setup to handle psi levels of over 100 is to take a quick glance at the valve stem.
