I don't have a tow package on my 2022 Ford Explorer. What trailer wiring do you recommend for my vehicle? I already have the hitch installed.

For your 2022 Ford Explorer (without tow package), the correct 4-way harness is the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness - 4-Way # 118599. This harness is designed specifically for vehicles without a tow package and comes with a better-quality converter box than the Curt # C56093.

If you need a 7-way harness, I recommend the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This harness splices into your vehicle's wiring and prepares the vehicle for a brake controller.

To add a brake controller, I recommend the Tekonsha Voyager # 39510 or the Curt Echo # C51180. Both of these controllers are proportional controllers which means that the controller activates the trailer brakes in proportion to your vehicle's braking action. The Voyager is more of a traditional-style controller than requires mounting into the dashboard of your vehicle near the steering wheel. If you decide on the Voyager, you need the addition harness # 20127. On the other hand, the Curt Echo allows you to control the settings of your controller with the ease of your Smart device.
