Which Hitch Sits Lower on 2011 Dodge Ram 2500 With OEM Hitch, Curt # C15409 or DrawTite # 41929
Question:
I am looking to buy either the Curt C15409 or Draw Tite 41929 trailer hitch for my 2011 2500 Ram short bed pick up truck with O.E.M. hitch installed. As I stated in another question, I need to my hitch ball in order to tow my flat bed trailer level. Which of these two hitches has a lower ground height? Additionally, will the O.E.M. receiver interfere with either of these hitches. Thank you.

Both the Curt # C15409 and DrawTite # 41929 hitch receivers are designed to work alongside the OEM hitch. Both sit beneath it when installed.
My contacts at DrawTite and Curt were able to provide a measurement that will be helpful to you in determining the location of the hitches once installed. The distance from the bottom of the vehicle frame rails (which is where the hitches attach) to the top of the receiver tube is 9 inches for both products.
Both the Curt and DrawTite hitches are USA-made, carry a limited lifetime warranty and require that the ball mount, hitch pin and clip be purchased separately. The Curt, part # C15409, as a Class V hitch offers higher tongue weight (TW) and gross towing weight (GTW) capacities.
I have included a link to an article bout how to select the appropriate ball mount.
