Recommendation For Weight Distribution on 20 Foot V-Nose Car Hauler
Question:
I am pulling a 20foot car hauler with a v nose and that only leaves me with 24 inches of working room for the torsion bars. How long are the bars on the RP66155 model or due you have another hitch that will work? The 24 inch is from the center of the ball.

On a trailer with a V-Nose you cannot use the standard weight distribution systems with the chain hangers for the spring bars that go over the top of the trailer frame, but a simple bracket switch, and you can use a weight distribution system. Traditional chain hanger brackets go over the top of the frame, but a V-Nose trailer cabin sits on the top of the frame where the brackets need to go.
With the V-Nose configuration, and only 24 inches of room, you will not be able to use the Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System, part # RP66560, you have mentioned. You could use the Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution Hitch System, part # RP66074, with the Reese Chain Hanger Kit, part # RP58305, to bolt to your trailer frame at the point that you need the chain hangars to be.
These chain hangers will mount approximately 31 inches from the center of the hangers to the center of the hitch ball. You will need to jack up the trailer when hooking up the spring bars to the side-mount chain hangers.
I am including links to the installation instructions on the weight distribution system and on the chain hangers.
