Can Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box Be Used With Gooseneck Adapter

Question:

I just seen the post about converting a trail air air ride pin box to a gooseneck adapter. And seen the one that y’all suggested but when I looked at the specs it said it is not compatible With a air ride or cushion pin box so my question is will this work or not .2 I will need to use a 4” off set bandw goose ne k ball since it is a short wheel base truck so does this work with all of it

The Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G you referenced is not compatible with any cushioned or air ride 5th wheel king pin like the Trailair Air Ride 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC158778. There may have been a previous model that was compatible, but I am not aware of any Trailair cushioned pin boxes that are compatible.

However I do have a few different options for you and your trailer.

One option is the B&W Companion Slider Gooseneck-to-5th-Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3400. This will give you a 5th wheel hitch in your bed, and fits directly into the gooseneck hole. The hitch has a slider so it will provide you with the clearance for those tight turns. However depending on how often you tow and remove the hitch it can be heavy, and I can understand wanting a different way to tow your trailer.

Another option is to replace the pin box on your trailer with a new pin box like the Resse Goose Box. The Resse Goose Box is the only adapter that is currently endorsed by Lippert Components. These are cushioned pin boxes so you won't be losing the comfortable ride, but it will leave the bed of your truck free when you're not towing without having to remove a hitch.

There's a few different Goose boxes so if you provide me the number of your current pin box I can make a recommendation.
