Will Kodiac 3,500lb Disc Brakes Fit To UFP 4200 Axle

Question:

Can I install a Kodiak 10inch 3500lb on a UFP 4200 axel. I know the rotor would have to be UFP 4200lb. Will the kodiak caliper and mounting plate fit?

These axles only use one common bearing combination for the inner and outer bearings. For the inner bearing, a 4,400 pound axle normally uses # L68149 and for the outer bearing it's usually # LM67048 vs. the outer bearing of # L44649 for a 3,500lb axle. Definitely check your bearings size and measure the spindles where the bearings sit.

To make sure that the hub-and-rotor assembly you're looking at will work with your trailer spindle, you will have to either measure your spindle or get the part numbers from the existing bearings and seal. 4,000- 4,400 pound axles are much less common than 3,500 pound or 5,200 pound axles.

Along with the axle capacity, wheel diameter and wheel bolt pattern, knowing either this spindle measurement or the part numbers will help you select the correct hydraulic disc brake kit for your trailer.

If you cannot find part numbers for the bearings and seal, you can measure the spindle at the inner bearing surface (C), the outer bearing surface (D) and the seal contact surface (B). I attached a diagram to reference. Once you have these measurements, you can look up the part numbers of the bearings and seal that you need in order to select the right disc brake kit.
