How to Pick Out Replacement Seal for Boat Trailer

Question:

I am currently taking apart my wheels on a marine boat trailer and I have a bearing number of L44643 with a race number of L44610. My seals have a number of 41257. It seems every bearing kit I look at does not include that seal number. I am looking for the best seal to use on a marine boat trailer that will obviously be getting wet. What bearing seal would be your recommendation. Thanks so much.

The seal number you mentioned does not match anything we carry or any of the cross-references we are aware of. You are going to have to take a couple measurements to determine which seal you'd need.

To pick out a replacement grease seal you will need to measure the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal rides with a digital or dial caliper like # PTW80157 and then need to measure the hub bore where the current seal rides. With those two dimensions we can pick out the correct seal that you would need.

I attached a link to a page that has all of the grease seals we carry. You will need to select your inner and outer diameter from the filters on the page and the correct seals will be listed. Going with a double-lip seal will be your best option since you have a boat trailer.
