How To Tighten Spindle Nut on EZ-Lube Spindle

Question:

Hello, i recently purchased a bearing kit Item # DBRKHW35EZ and I have a question about putting everything back together. I attached a photo showing the new parts, as well as the few things, such as the nut that I assume I will reuse. My question is this: I am reading/hearing multiple things on how to exactly tighten the nut back on when putting everything back together. My set up doesnt have any sort of pin at least there was not one when i removed the old set up, and i have read or heard a combination of the following - I am supposed to tighten the nut found in the attached picture to a specific torgue. - I am supposed to tighten the nut, then loosen, repeat about 5 times, then finally hand tighten the nut. - I am supposed to hand tighten the nut, then loosen about half a turn and leave it What do you recommend? Can you provide instructions on how to put this nut back on? I am not sure how to put this single nut back into place and I want to do this correctly.

Instead of a castle nut and a cotter pin, your Ez-Lube spindle used a D-washer and a nut retainer. After the bearings are repacked and the grease seal is in place, working the hub gently into place until it seats fully. Install the D-washer then the nut. Snug the nut down a little at a time as you rock the hub back and forth making sure it's seated. Run the nut down just past finger tight but not so tight it doesn't spin freely. Then install the nut retainer then the wheel.

I've linked a video for you, the portion specific to tightening the spindle nut begins at the 7:10 mark.
