Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2014 Ford Escape
Question:
I am purchasing a draw tite # 75782. What would be the best wiring harness to purchase for my 2014 Ford Escape?

For your 2014 Ford Escape, I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118566. This custom harness will install by connecting directly to built-in ports located behind the driver-side and passenger-side tail lights. Once these connections are made, you will simply need to run the hot lead up to the vehicle's battery. This will provide you with a 4-Way connector to connect with and power the trailer's basic signal lights. I recommend this particular harness because Tekonsha is well known for producing reliable electrical products and we just hear far fewer troubleshooting issues from their harnesses compared to those from other manufacturers.
I have attached an installation video on your 2014 Ford Escape that you can use for reference.
The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75782 that you also mentioned is confirmed to fit your Escape and is an excellent choice. I have attached the written installation instructions for this hitch that you can take a look at.
Since it sounds like you will be doing some towing, you will also need to add a ball mount and hitch ball. I have attached a great article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection. A couple articles on towing a trailer have also been attached that you might find helpful.
