What Gauge Wire Can the 3/8 Inch Wire Loom Hold?

Question:

I am looking for a loom to hold a single 3 gague wire running to the back of my truck for a winch mounted on a Rec. Mount plate. Will this 3/8 loom hold a 3 gauge wire?

Expert Reply:

3 gauge wire is about 0.229 inches in diameter, so Wire Loom 3/8" Diameter like # 39035 will give it enough space for safety without further restricting the wire for heat dispersion. It will also avoid pinching or crimping the wire. You can use the Metal Loom Clamp - 1/2" # A0500 to secure it if desired. Technically this loom could hold up to 00 gauge wire (0.365 inches diameter).
