Recommended Wiring Junction Box For Utility Trailer

Question:

I have a small utility trailer modified to carry kayaks and bicycles, The brake and lighting cable extends along the tongue of the trailer and is wrapped around the tongue. Secured in this manner it is either too long or too short depending on the number of turns. Do you have a product for supporting the cable? I am envisioning a spring loaded support that would keep the cable above the tongue, but that would be flexible enough to keep the connector plug from being pulled out during a sharp turn.

If you are wanting to secure the wiring on your trailer and keep it secure I recommend using a wiring junction box like part # 38656 on your trailer. You can place the junction box on the tongue of your trailer and run the wires from the trailer into one side of the box and on to the terminals.

Then attach the trailer connector with wires cut to the appropriate length to the matching wires on the terminals inside the box and extend it so you can attach it to your vehicle.

You want to leave enough wire so you do not have to loop it around the trailer tongue but leave enough so that you can execute turns without any damage to the wires.
