Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Wiring for a 2014 Toyota Highlander with Spare Tire
Question:
I have a 2014 Highlander limited with a 165/90-18 spare. Im looking for a hitch and I assume c13394 is what I need. My question is on the wire harness. Can you tell me which I need? Thanks,

The Curt # C13394 is a confirmed fit for your 2014 Toyota Highlander, however, in our installation notes we have that you will be able to store a full sized spare underneath after the hitch is installed unless the spare is on an aluminum rim. The aluminum rims are too wide to fit.
If your Highlander has the factory tow package (converter under dash) then I recommend going with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector # HM11141825. If it doesn't have the factory tow package (no converter under dash) then I recommend going with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Connector part # HM11141845 instead.
To tow a trailer you will also need a ball mount and hitch ball. I recommend going with our Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches # 989900 which comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 hitch balls, and a picn an clip. You will want to check to make sure that either of these ball mounts will give you the correct Rise or Drop depending on your application. I have attached a helpful article that you can use to help you determine what you will need.
I have also attached some installation videos that you might find helpful as well.
