B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs

This definitely is not a plug and play mechanism.
There is interference with the lever to unlock the ball and it hitting one of the bolts. I had to shave the bolt down to make it even slide by, in addition to this I had to cut about 1/4” off the mechanism lever for it to open all the way and not hit the bracket on the truck.

So in summary I had to make two cuts into the product to make it even function properly.

The E-trailer videos and instuctions are great! I would suggest going ahead and removing the spare tire heat shield to make life easier with the torque wrench and when drilling the safety chain holes. The other item I am glad I caught before installing my hitch is the size of the hole they want you to use. B&W suggest a 3-1/2" hole and provide a plastic spacer to kinda hide the gap, I didn't like the idea of how this was going to look. I still installed the plastic spacer to support the bed around the hole, but I used a 3-1/4" hole saw and very lightly filed the edges for a much better fit. (Just make sure you hit your pilot hole location.) Test fit the hitch from the top side when checking the hole size. When installing, tighten the bolts to where the hitch just starts to make contact with the frame and then go top side and check hitch/hole alignment. Tap the hitch around with a mallet if you need to line it up with the hole. (Once the hitch was tight it didn't protrude through the bed anyways, so the hole could have been small and still worked). After removing the exhaust hanger, I used a ratchet strap to pull the tail pipe towards the spring to allow access to drill the passenger side safety hook holes. Another tip, I used a piece of rope tied to the ball retaining pin and fed it up through the hole in the bed. My 11 year old son was able to hold it in place this way while I started the bolts. I am happy with the end results and it looks great! The one thing I feel could be better is how far the ball retaining pin protrudes into the second side of the hitch housing, on mine I only have about 1/4" into the second side. I would feel better with 3/8"-1/2" engagement.302603

2016 Volvo Cross Country

We've traveled cross country, twice, and over 10,000 miles towing and this has been the best hitch we've had yet. The roads aren't smooth and the 16,000 lb of our fifth wheel has ridden smooth and without chucking/bumping. We have the steel version and very glad we decided to purchase this hitch instead of the typical saddle type 5th wheel hitch we've used before. B and W makes the best products. I am willing to pay a little extra to buy B and W over other manufactures as the quality and build is outstanding. I bought this item as well as their 5th will puck hitch. Couldn't be happier, works exactly like its supposed to. One note is on my previous Ram I had the factory gooseneck and the ball would spin in the hitch, wearing it out. On the truck I have now, I specifically bought it without the factory hitch so I could put B and W's hitch in which is MUCH better!!735200

etrailer not only have a great procedure for online trading or online store, but also a great website....people on similar business can appreciate that as per other this feature can be transparent for them...it takes a great effort of team work to accomplish what this level of a,b,c,d online process to be done the way of etrailer has done.

The products are simply well described, well packed, fast shipping. Whether is in stock or direct ship from manufacture, they make it look like is nothing..to me another great team effort and well though software architecture.
As often we find instructions from manufacture to be some confusing, etrailer back it up which bunch of literature and videos to easy the process.
Device recommendations:
I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing this item to purchase also the harness kit, installation is plug and play and it looks part of another factory install.

Cons: The part where every instruction or videos said "remove the clamp of the exhaust pipe to move exhaust pipe over" I found that is extremely difficult to accomplish that procedure on a 2014 3500 Ram with a Diesel Engine which it has the extra exhaust regeneration device or so call DPF...where fuel exhaust particles are burn, etc. that makes my vehicle exhaust to be solid almost one foot before reaching my rear end axle, meaning location where I need to be working installing my under bed gooseneck hitch.
I did not removed any exhaust clamps and I simply got me a short 22 mm and tight my bolts with a wrench and a hammer.

NOTE: ABS harness bracket it looks like is going to be rubbing against the hitch and it is extremely close, but it does not once bolts are tight you will have about 1/2 clearance (will not rub).

Last comments, everything fits and everything goes where is says instructions, do not remove your bed of cut your truck in half..jejejejej

The B&W Turnover ball hitch kit for my 2014 Ram 3500 was very well engineered to fit precisely in my truck's frame and appeared to be well constructed in all respects. It was definitely no cake walk in the installation department and not recommended to be taken on by a non professional unless you are confident in your mechanical skills. I did it alone. The directions recommend the job be done by two. Good advise. The directions described a couple of things as "optional", like removing the spare tire and heat shield and removing exhaust donuts. Definitely NOT optional! But all in all it went well, turned out excellent. Great American made product, and has my seal of approval.181293

I removed the factory “puck system” ball to install this one. Install was easy once I had the OEM hitch removed. I use weekly with ball and B&W Companion fifth wheel. I’ve never had any problems with it.1168618

This is the first product in a very long time that actually exceeded my expectations. First of all it is Made in the USA. Second, it was clearly made by people who not only know what they're doing but take great pride in their work as well. The fit and finish were perfect. I watched B & W's install video on YouTube and was again pleasantly surprised that it was relevant to the exact product I bought. Installation was very straight forward and, again, there were no surprises as between the video and the included instructions B & W had all their bases covered. Even though I didn't have extra help nor B & W's installation tool I was able to innovate with some 5/8" threaded rod and a couple nuts I had laying around. Everything fit together so perfect I was able to complete the installation in around 2 hours with a not-fully-recovered ruptured disc in my back. I have had this in my truck for several months now and I still think it's absolutely fantastic. It is hell for stout and simple to operate. Thank you so much B & W!

2015 Ram 3500

We've been running this B&W hitch for 18 months now and love it. The install is much easier on the 2013+ Rams compared to previous generations that needed the added cross-members. Just be prepared to spend a bit of time drilling through the factory cross-member for the safety chain anchors. 409490
