Recommended Mounting Installation for the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller
Question:
Will mounting this controller with a magnetic mount similar to type used for mounting tablets affect its performance?

Expert Reply:
According to the Tekonsha Prodigy P3, # 90195, instructions for installation, there are only two recommend requirements. The P3 brake controller will need to be mounted horizontal and the P3 must be mounted so it is parallel to the direction of travel.
With that said, I recommend using the included mounting bracket over a magnetized mount. The designed mount will allow your controller to remain secure to the dash of your vehicle, Plus once in the mounting bracket, the brake controller will remain horizontal and inline with the travel of your vehicle. The controller has never been tested using a magnetic mount to secure the unit in the vehicle.
