Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is in your rear cargo area, on the driver's side. You will have to remove the floor covers, cargo trays, and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the connector, you will have to route the harness through the jack storage compartment to the center of your vehicle. Afterward, locate the fuse box under your hood and insert the provided fuses.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

I installed the wiring harness, brackets, and tow receiver 12 months ago. This was a simple job to do. The video tutorial made it even simpler. Everything works as described. I only HATE the plates that hold the harness under the car (already rusting), I had to bend one 90 degrees to make it work and the harness falls out of the other plate when whenever I use it (see photo).

Wire harness works great. Name of product is misleading as it is for installation in a vehicle that does not have a factory tow package. The how-to video is amateurish with several errors in it. Like all how-to videos this one omits the single most difficult procedure, in this case, releasing the car's white electrical connector so it becomes accessible.

Podman - 01/24/2023I really found that installing the unit was somewhat easy. I would recommend etrailer to anyone looking to install a hitch.
I received my package with everything I ordered and the hitch receiver seems to be well built thankfully. However when I received the package it was severely damaged and open. It appears that no packing was added to the box to take up the dead space around the hitch. I would hope in the future etrailer would do something to remedy this.
Box came damaged is an understatement (see photos). I'm hoping none of the bolts were lost or the wiring kit was damaged. But it is a bulky item and it's typical for damage to box. Off hand, I'm thinking everything is ok.
I was able to install the hitch I ordered, the wiring harness and the bracket ALL while listening to Cleveland and Tampa in the wildcard playoffs, even before the extra innings!
The instructional videos online were thorough and I had no questions. All works as required! I’ll highly recommend etrailer to everyone. Thanks again for the fine craftsmanship of your hitches and the accessories.
Great harness and it looks good with the bracket to keep it in place. My only problem was being unable to locate the back up sensor wiring to connect to the harness. I’ve watched your videos but none of them include locating and connecting the “blue” wire harness. I dug around and followed my truck’s sensor wire but I was unable to locate the connector. My guess is it’s buried behind the jack holder which makes it inaccessible unless you remove the entire panel, not just peel it back like in the videos.
Sierra K - 06/28/2021Worked perfectly once installed. Missing one star because of the installation process. I had to make a few phone calls over a harness plug that didn't seem to go anywhere in my pilot. I got varying answers. One was fortunately correct and then no issues since installed 1 year ago by myself.
All items were received in good condition with clear instructions for installation. The videos on etrailer website were especially helpful. Everything worked perfectly after install. Since the factory installed the back up sensor, there was nowhere to plug in the blue wire.
With the help of etrailer video, I was able to easily install the wire harness! Thanks etrailer!

the T one was perfect, but the instructions, were very small print and photos, and were not totally correct. you have to remove the rear interior panel partly for a 2022 honda pilot, to get to the main connector , not difficult at all, but the direction did not mention that.
Install was quick and removing plastic was the hardest part. Video was very helpful for installation.
Came in quick,easy install. Didn’t have to fight with it at all.Great in use now for 6 months
The wire harness was packaged in a box and inside a larger box containing the trailer hitch that I ordered. Both boxes were damaged and somehow the wire harness was removed from it's own box and laying inside the hitch box. I did not notice any damage and haven't installed yet to see if the harness is working properly. I would strongly suggest packing the smaller items in a separate box to eliminate this issue. Ordering, delivery, and communication were outstanding from etrailer.

I went to an auto electric shop to have trailer wires installed. They wanted about $400.00 to install an adapter and tail. I thought the job could be done in a couple of hours and felt the charge was more than the work was worth. I found the part at eTrailer.com for $72.00 and installed it myself in 45 minutes. Works well, easy to install. A little frustration with the extra blue wire that was to defeat backup beeper, which as it turned out I didn't need but waisted a lot of time trying to figure out we it was supposed to plug in .
