Complete Electric Brake Installation for 2,000 lb Trailer Axle

Adding Trailer Brakes--The axle is 1 3/4inch and bearings are L44649

With the axle measurement and the bearing number, I can confirm that you have 2,000 lb capacity axles on your trailers.
You will want to get the Brake Mounting Flange, # 4-34, to weld onto each side of each axle. With that flange in place, you will want to mount the 7 inch Electric Trailer Brake Assembly # AKEBRK-2L on the left side of the axle and the # AKEBRK-2R on the right side of the axle. These are nearly identical parts, but installing on the correct side is very important.
The 7 Inch Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 2,000 lb E-Z Lube Axles with 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, # AKHD-545-2-EZ-2K, will install on top of those Brake assemblies using the # L44649 bearings already included with this assembly. You may want to use a bearing packer like the LubriMatic Deluxe Bearing packer, # L70025. The grease we recommend is the LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease, # L11390, because it meets the toughest lubrication requirements and is rated for use in wheel bearings.
I've included a help article for wiring your trailers to utilize electric brakes as you will need to upgrade to the 7-Way connector. You will need an appropriate length of 10 gauge wire # 10-2-1 or 12 gauge wire # 12-2-1 to run power and ground wires to the brake assemblies. The 7-Way Molded Trailer Wire plug with Junction Box, # HS381-9000, will meet your needs to easily convert the wiring to utilize the new trailer brakes.
