Trailer Hitch for 1998 Ford E-450 Shuttle Bus Conversion
Question:
I have a 98 E450 shuttle bus conversion I have turned into a toy hauler/motorcoach. I am looking for a hitch for infrequent use. Class III is perfect. Any recommendations? I have the v10 BTW. Thanks in advance.

The best option we have for you to add a trailer hitch on your 1998 Shuttle Bus is the Draw-Tite Class IV Weld-On Ultra Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990. This hitch can be installed with either 16 inch brackets # 4916 or 7 inch brackets # 4907. In order to determine which bracket you need, you will want to take a quick measurement to determine how much room you'll need to clear your vehicle's bumper.
You will want to measure from the top of the frame on your vehicle, to the bottom of the bumper to determine how much of a drop you'll need for the hitch to clear the bumper. If you will need less than 5-9/16 inches to clear the bumper, you can use the 7 inch brackets # 4907.
If you need less than 14-3/8 inches to clear the bumper, you can use the 16 inch brackets # 4916. I have attached photos showing these measurements on the brackets for you. I have also attached the installation instructions for the hitch.

Please tell me the dimensions of the square hole in the side brackets. I am guessing it is roughly 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" ? But is it 2.50" exactly or 2,6? or....? Thank you.
