Add a bike carrier or cargo carrier with the dual hitch receiver.

by:

Worked out great for my family bike adventure. Traveled with that setup over 1000 miles and it was easy drive. I had cargo carrier on the bottom and bike rack on top, and with that setup and 4 people on board still plenty of ground clearance 11". Dual hitch is a solid piece of steel that can carry a lot of lbs. Just don't overload max. tong weight, need some room for safety!

by:

This adapter design was exactly what I was looking for. I often carry 4 or more bikes with my Sylvan GO. The pictures show how I configured my setup. Its perfect!!! And yes, I have to be a little careful on really tight turns but its never been an issue. Thank you George and the etrailer team.

by:

Great hitch. Exactly what it says in the description. Works perfect for my Blue ox tow bar and my 1UP bike rack.

by:

This seems sturdy and fits, but it is a slightly loose fitting. A better design would enable you to tighten the fit.

If you are having issues with it sitting tight, you could always use an anti-rattle hitch lock, like part # RM-061 to reduce the loose fit.

by:

This is exactly what I needed to tow my Jeep Gladiator behind my class C

by:

A very well built and sturdy hitch. Allows us to attach our flat tow car and bicycle rack on our motorhome.

by:

I use this for towing my TOAD and flipped up using the upper one for my E-bike rack. After 1 year, this dual receiver has worked flawlessly and is very strong. I would recommend it to anyone who needs something along this line. Lastly using a hitch clamp / anti wobble device will take any play out the receiver.

by:

It works great, it's what I need , Id like it better if it was cheaper.

Its nice and well worth the money, and works great for me

by:

This hitch adapter is just what I needed to carry bikes and flat tow my car. Etrailer is very helpful as carry what I need.

by:

Exactly what I needed to not only tow our Jeep, but also to put our Hollywood bike rack on. Great quality!

by:

Heavy duty, well made, and fits perfect.

by:

Great product at a fair price . Customer rep was very helpful .

by:

Built stout, fit perfectly. Suggest buying a locking hitch pin!

by:

We bought this hitch along with a bike rack. After a year of use we are still travelling across North America. Awesome product! Easy and totally easy to use.

Delivery was fast and efficient.

by:

Exactly what i need.

by:

Just what I needed for my tow and bikes.
Thank you.

by:

Works as designed, well built,

by:

Does it's job well. Holds the bike rack for the ebikes and allows us to tow our Jeep behind the RV.

by:

As Expected. 2" drop aligned car tow bar. Hope to use 5" rise for bike rack in future.

by:

Really quick delivery. Hitch is very heavy duty. Just what I wanted.

by:

It looks to be exactly what I need to raise my carrier up higher

by:

I wish the pin bore was not so far back. The instructions say a second hole can't be drilled to allow it to set closer to the vehicle. Will make it work as is I guess.

by:

Very well built, great finish too.

by:

This adapter is solid. Very well made.

by:

Solid product!! Fits perfectly and looks great :-D Puts my bike rack a nice distance over the tow arm. Nice to find one that is rated to 10,000 lbs even thought I'm towing 5,000.

  • Which Dual Hitch Adapter Has the Highest Tongue Weight Capacity
The dual hitch adapter we carry with the highest tongue weight capacity is the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter part # RM-077-6 for 6" rise or part # RM-077-8 for 8" rise. They both have a 400 lb tongue weight capacity. Please note that this adapter is designed for flat towing only. If you can give me a better idea of what you are using the adapter for we may have alternative options if the above will not work.

  • What Bike Rack Option Do You Have as an Alternative to the LC429756?
I'm sorry to hear about the interference! I believe you are talking about the Hitch-It 2 Bike Rack for Straight Tongue Trailers # LC731138. This rack comes with clamps that work with 2" - 4" wide trailer tongues. If you are looking for an alternative solution, I recommend using a dual hitch adapter like the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2" or 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6. With that adapter, I recommend using a bike rack like the Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2"...

  • Roadmaster Hitch Adapter for Flat towing a 2018 Jeep Rubicon and Two E-Bikes
I recommend the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 10" Drop/Rise item # RM-077-10. This adapter was designed for this type of set up. Your Jeep Rubicon and Swagman E bike rack weigh well below the 10,000 lbs maximum capacity of this hitch. I have attached a review video as well as a picture that show this rack being utilized in the same way.

The Swagman # S94FR E-Spec bike rack can indeed be used on the rear of a Class A motorhome while flat towing a vehicle, or if the vehicle you're flat towing already has a Class III or higher hitch on it with a 2 inch receiver, you can install the rack on the vehicle you're towing, as it's also designed for use on a towed vehicle. The E-Spec can carry 2 bikes weighing up to 70 lbs each with tires up to 3 inches wide. Because it holds the bikes by the top frame tube instead of the wheel...

  • Which Roadmaster Dual Hitch Adapter For Carrying Bike Rack While Flat Towing
Since the receiver height and the base plate height of the vehicle is the same, you won't need to worry about keeping the tow bar level. If your bike rack has an angled shank with a couple inches of rise to it, you could use the # RM-077-6. If the bike rack has a straight shank, you'll want a dual-hitch adapter with a larger rise such as # RM-077-8 for an 8-inch or # RM-077-10 for a 10-inch rise to move the bike rack up and out of the way. The adapters have a tongue weight capacity...

  • Carrying Bikes on an RV While Flat Towing a Jeep
I recommend using a hitch mounted bike carrier on the back of the motorhome with a dual adapter like part # RM-077-6. The correct hitch adapter you need depends on if you need a rise or drop in order to tow the Jeep level. I've linked our complete selection for you. You could use a hitch mounted rack on the back of the Jeep but there's a lot of movement on the back of a towed vehicle and most racks aren't rated to handle the additional stress so your rack choices would be very limited....

We have an option for you, though the way the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screening # RM-4750 installs onto the receiver means it isn't going to be compatible with a dual-hitch adapter. Instead, what you can use that will work with a dual-hitch adapter and your Blue Ox tow bar is a Blue Ox protective guard: - Blue Ox KarGard Towed Vehicle Protector # BX8870 This will do a superb job of keeping your towed vehicle safe, and because it mounts on your Blue Ox tow bar (on all tow bars...

  • Is There a Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter with Higher Tongue Weight Rating
I do have an option for you but the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapters are for flat-towing which have practically no tongue weight. The only option I can think of for a capacity this high is a stacked ball mount like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers part # 325-GH-214. The offset top tube will be great for bike racks and you can then use the bottom two for towing with the included dual hitch ball.

  • Weight Capacity of the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter
The Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 2" or 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 will be able to hold your spare tire as long as you are not exceeding the tongue weight capacity of the adapter or your trailer hitch. The Roadmaster adapter has a maximum tongue weight of 400 lbs. So, as long as you are not over 400 lbs of tongue weight the adapter won't have any problems.

  • Dual Adapter For Flat Towing & Carrying Bike Rack
While there isn't an adjustable option, there are dual hitch adapters for flat towing that allow you to tow your vehicle and carry a bike rack at the same time. The right one just depends on the amount of rise or drop you need. Also keep in mind the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent, and that the rise or drop will depend on the way the adapter is turned. - 2" or 4" of Rise/Drop: Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter # RM-077-4 - 2" or...

  • Recommended Dual Hitch Adapter and Cargo Carrier for Flat Towing/Carrying Bike Rack and Cargo Carrie
You can use a Dual Hitch Adapter like # RM-077-2 so you can simultaneously carry a cargo carrier/bike rack and flat tow. There are a couple things to keep in mind, though... Using an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by half. Therefore, if the hitch has a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, using the adapter will reduce that capacity to 175 lbs. That's not a big deal for the flat towed vehicle, because flat towed vehicles are a rolling load that don't exert any...

  • Does the Use of a Dual Hitch Adapter Reduce Tongue Weight Capacity
You are correct, the use of an adapter typically reduces the tongue weight capacity by 50%, but the amount can vary slightly. Since you are towing a trailer, you do not want to use the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6 since it is designed for flat towing. As for the other dual hitch adapters available, I checked and they all reduce capacity by 50% so that would leave you overloaded. I do, however, have a solution. You can use the Malone 2" Dual Purpose Hitch Receiver # MPG544 which is rated for up to 400 lbs total tongue weight and 4,000 lbs towing capacity. The hitch receiver will further limit you, but as long at the tongue weight of the trailer, the bike rack, and your ball mount don't exceed the tongue weight of your hitch you will be good to go.
