Front Mount Hitch for Bike Rack on 2022 Ford E450 Chassis Class C Motorhome

Question:

I need a front mount hitch for a 2022 Ford E-450. Motorhome is a Jayco Redhawk 24B. I would like to carry a bike rack on the front of my motorhome. Do you have a hitch that will work? My bike rack will take either a 1-1/4" or 2" shank. My bike rack is a Hollywood brand. I flat tow on the back and also have a spare tire rack there as well so there is no room. My past 2 motorhomes have been Class C and I have ordered front mount hitches from you which work really well. That is what I'm hoping too do with this one as well.

Yes, I see why you why you are looking for a front mount hitch, it is the perfect solution for your situation. I reached out to our contact at Draw-Tite about their option for front mount trailer hitch, # 65053. It is a confirmed fit for earlier year models of the E-Series but they replied that they do not yet have a solution for the 2022 model. My go suggestion for a situation such as yours is to recommend using the Roadmaster Dual Hitch Receiver Adapter, 6" Drop/Rise # RM-077-6. Or another dual hitch model with the needed drop/rise for your flat tow arrangement such as, # RM-077-2, # RM-077-4, or # RM-077-6. This is an adapter that lets you install a bike rack along with hooking up a tow bar for flat-towing. My concern is if there is enough room with your spare tire. If not, to make this work requires the tire be relocated.

Another possible option is a hitch for your towed vehicle and carry the bikes on it. That your bike rack is rated for flat towing use would need to be verified too. The Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Rack, # HLY64FR meets this rating.

There is also the Swagman Around the Spare Deluxe 2 Bike Rack for RV Bumpers, # S80501 to be considered. This mounts on your bumper over your spare tire. Is for 4" - 4-1/2" square continuously welded steel bumpers and limited to 35 lbs. per bike.
