Quickly and easily install a 4-way trailer connector on your vehicle with this custom harness. T-connector plugs directly into OEM tow package wiring harness - no cutting or splicing required.

Features:

  • Provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights
    • Designed for use with a factory tow package
    • Compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole and 7-pole adapters (sold separately)
  • Connects quickly and easily - no cutting or splicing
    • Locate connection point behind rear bumper
    • Plug in connector
  • Includes a tail light converter to ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer
  • Protective connection terminals resist corrosion
  • Comes with dust cap for 4-way flat connector, cable ties, and terminal grease packet for electrical connections
  • 90-Day limited warranty

Installation

This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's factory tow package wiring harness, which is located behind the rear tire, on the driver's side.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of the trailer. This converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Ordered was received on time. This was the easiest install ever. Looks great and works perfectly.

Kia

A good product from etrailer. Installation for both hitch and wiring harness is very easy when following directions on Youtube for 2016 model KIA. Kind of a hassle getting the wiring up under the bumper.
Customer service and delivery were excellent - wish that I had more occasions to work with and get direction from a company like etrailer.

  • Recommended Trailer Wiring Harness for 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe and Tandem Axle Boat Trailer Brakes
For your 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe, I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 which will give you the ability to control the braking on your tandem axle boat trailer. This controller is proportional so it will apply the brakes on your trailer at the same time and with the same intensity as you hit the brake pedal in your Santa Fe. It has a nice LCD screen with preset brake options to make it really easy to use. This will work well with electric trailer brakes or...

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2012 Kia Sorento
Your 2012 Kia Sorento has a separate wiring system. This means that the brake lights and turn signals are on different circuits/bulbs. Trailers on the other hand have a combined system with the turn signals and brake lights on the same circuit/bulb. So you would not be able to just wire in a vehicle side 4-Way directly to the lights on the Sorento because you would either have brake lights or turn signals but not both. You will need the proper harness that includes a converter for your...

  • Parts Needed to Install 7-Way and Brake Controller on 2016 Kia Sedona
We certainly can help you set up trailer wiring on your 2016 Kia Sedona that will allow you to use your trailer brakes and battery charge wire, but you do have to start with a 4-way like the # HM11143965 that you referenced. Not all vehicles are wired for trailer brakes. Especially ones that weren't made with towing as a primary concern like your 2016 Kia Sedona. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want...

  • Hitch Fits and Towing Capacity of 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe
The towing capacity of the 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe varies depending on the specific engine and transmission in the car and on whether or not the trailer has brakes. Minimum capacity is 1653-lbs for trailers without brakes and the maximum for the manual transmission towing a trailer with brakes is 5512-lbs. Page 5-98 of the online owner's manual indicates this in a chart that I linked for you. If you need a hitch you can use # 75776 if you have the GLS or Limited model, or # 75772 if you...

Hitches for your 2015 Kia Sorento like the Curt # C13152 are rated for weight distribution and based on the capacities of your vehicle and this hitch the best option will be the Strait Line part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400 to 800 lbs and features the only sway control on the market designed to fight sway before it starts. The Draw-Tite custom fit hitch part # 75908 for the 2016 Kia Sorento max tongue weight capacity is up to 500 lbs. The tongue weight rating does not change if you weld the hitch to the vehicle's frame.
