At this time there are no brake controller wiring harnesses for the 2014 Kia Sorento. To install a brake controller you would need to hardwire it in. If you can tell me if the vehicle has a factory 7-Way, aftermarket 7-Way or 4-Way, or no trailer connector, I can explain exactly what you will need and how to install the controller.
If it has a factory 7-Way you will just need installation kit # 5506 for trailers with 6 to 8 brakes. You will attach the included circuit breaker under the hood to a metal surface such as the firewall. After you mount the controller according to the instructions you will use the wire included with the installation kit and attach some to the white brake controller wire and some to the black brake controller wire.
Then you will route these wires through the firewall and into the engine compartment near the battery. The white wire grounds to the negative battery terminal. Save any left over wire. The black wire will go to the AUX post of the circuit breaker. Save the excess wire and attach one end to the BAT post on the circuit breaker and then to the positive battery terminal.
Next, you will need a circuit tester such as # PTW2992 if you need one. Test the wires on the brake switch located above the brake pedal. You want the one that only shows power when the brake pedal is pressed and not also when the headlights or turn signals are on. The brake controller red wire will attach to this brake switch wire.
Last, you will need to attach one end of the left over wire to the blue wire, run it through the firewall, and under the vehicle to the 7-Way, avoiding areas that can pinch and burn the wire. Use zip ties to hold up the wire. At the 7-Way find the wire attached in the 7:00 position, remove it, and install the wire you ran to complete the installation.
If you have an aftermarket 4 to 7-Way adapter then there should be a blue wire at the back not connected to anything. Everything will be the same except that on the adapter blue wire you will just connect that wire you ran back from the brake controller.
And if it did not come with any trailer connector you will need to first add a 4-Way using # C56256 if the vehicle does not have the factory tow package, or # HM11143965 if it does have the factory tow package. Then you would need to use installation kit # ETBC7 instead of 5505 or 5506. I have included some links to the right that explain the ETBC7 installation.
If you do not already have a brake controller I recommend the Tekonsha P2, # 90885. It is our most popular controller because it is easy to set up, easy to use, and its reliable.
