E-Z Lube-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

AFTER FIVE YEARS IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE THE BRAKES ON MY TRAILER. I TRIED LOCALLY AND THROUGH THE TRAILER FACTORY. LIKE MANY TRAILER FACTORIES THIS ONE HAD NO RECORD KEEPING. THEY COULD NOT GIVE CORRECT PART NUMBERS. IF I DID BUY THROUGH THEM, THE PRICE WAS TWICE THE AMOUNT OF E TRAILER. I CONTACTED E TRAILER AND SPOKE WITH PAT. SHE WAS GREAT. SHE TOLD ME TO MEASURE MY PARTS WITH A MICROMETER AND GIVE HER THE MEASUREMENTS. SHE FOUND THE CORRECT PARTS, THE EXACT PARTS MY TRAILER WAS BUILT WITH. THE ORDER WAS PLACED AND GET THIS, SHIPPED TWO HOURS LATER. I HAD MY PARTS IN THREE DAYS. DID I MENTION THEY INCLUDED THE RACES ALREADY PRESSED INTO THE HUBS/DRUMS, BEARINGS, DUST CAP, AND NEW LUG NUTS. ALL OF THAT WAS EXTRA FROM EVERYBODY ELSE I CHECKED WITH. THANKS E TRAILER

THE PRODUCTS ARE WORKING GHREAT! I HAVE RECOMMENDED E TRAILER TO NUMEROUS FRIENDS.

This is the exact replacement part that I needed for a EZ Lube hub with electric brakes. It was easy enough to install. Etrailer has many install videos The drums do not come with a dust seal plug on the brake adjusting hole. I purchased some at the local automotive parts store. These replacement hubs are now on a 13' Scamp Travel Trailer. The original hubs and brakes were shot. Now, I have new hubs, bearings, races, electric brakes on my 13' travel trailer.

Ten thousand miles on these new brakes. They are working just fine. I adjust them about every three thousand miles. After seven thousand miles, I pulled the brake drums and looked at them. The whole assembly and drum and magnet rubbing surfaces were just fine. I put in new double seals Etrailer sells them after pulling the brake drums. Grease the bearing with the Ez-lube hubs while spinning the wheel until new grease starts to exude. I will buy these again when needed.

by:

Put them on my Triton dual tandem jet ski trailer to provide a little stopping power rather than the constant slam forward and back on the hitch receiver. I have them mounted on the front axle with 13” rims, setup works exactly how I expected.

by:

What more can one ask for, I needed to turn the old drums and then found these drums on etrailer.com - complete with new bearing and seals and of all things, new lug nuts. For the extra money this was so well worth getting. Now my 2001 Coleman Sante Fe has totally new drums, brake assembly and wiring. The cool thing, they are original dexter parts, not off brand. Thank you etrailer.com. . . . . you are the best. . . . . jim a

Jaime B was very helpful in ordering my parts. Super fast shipping. The right parts at the right price. Thanks.

by:

I'm giving ETRAILER an excellent review for there dedication to making sure I received a quality product on time.

by:

I purchased the Dexter Electric Trailer Brake Kit, the Drum assembly, a Draw Tite controller, and the install kit. An upgrade to my newly purchased camper which came with no brakes. All parts were of high quality, well packaged and arrived in excellent condition. Customer support was first class, taking me through the purchase process item by item assuring I had all items necessary for this task.

Instructions were good, but I recommend checking the etrailer.com online version for more detail. No issues at all installing the new equipment. High marks for etrailer.com. Performance is very good.

No problems, high marks.

by:

The construction of the drums seem decent enough however a bit inferior compared to my original ones as the dimensions were not as exactly as advertised. I was not happy at all with the way they seem to fit. There was one half inch gap between the drum and the brake back assembly, I tried calling and explaining to customer service however the girl on phone was rude and tried to tell me that it's just the way it fits and it was not going to be the same as the original one. I wanted to return them for a refund but the shipping cost will be the cost of the purchase price as I live in Canada. This the last thing I'll ever buy from this site , I'd rather pay my local RV dealer extra 100 bucks and have the peice of mind that I'll get the correct part.

by:

The product arrived in very quickly, 2 days even though I requested a minor change to the order. The brake assembly and hub and drum assembly were perfect fits. I subtracted 1 star because the 2 brake assemblies were "loose" in the same box with the hubs which left the brake assembly magnets loose. I was able to find the magnet clip in the corner of the box under the flap. Otherwise I would have had to reorder.

Great customer service was hurt by very poor packaging. However, I wholeheartedly recommend this product. No instructions were included, but there are several helpful videos on etrailers web site.

by:

Ordered the products on a Tues. night and they were on my doorstep Fri. afternoon. Excellent product that was a direct replacement on my Chilton snowmobile trailer. Everything fit like a glove with no issues at all. Highly recommend etrailer.com and the Dexter products I purchased which were these hubs and the Dexter 7 x 1-1/4 brake assemblies.

by:

just installed these on our pop-up camper along with the electric brakes. Installation was very simple and everything appears to fit well. Now I feel comfortable towing the camper with our little Subaru. The drums and brakes together we're about $75 less expensive than anywhere else I checked. Thumbs up from me. Thanks guys

by:

I recently ordered and received an extremely hard to find brake hub from etrailer.com. Unfortunately, I didn't measure it correctly and ordered the wrong part. I contacted customer service and gave the correct measurements, and the woman knew exactly what part I needed. Great to see a customer service rep that actually knows their products inside and out. Now a lifelong customer..

by:

Exactly what I needed. The enclosed instructions were clear and helpful. Went on easily and my trailer is now ready for my next camping trip, unlike when the original 2004 one broke on our last trip!
Shipping was fast even with the labor day holiday. Arrived as promised.
etrailer.com is now my go-to for trailer parts!

by:

The shipping was fast and the brake drum was an exact replacement for my old drum. The inner races were already installed and it can with the two cone bearings, rear grease seal, dust cap and new rubber cap,

by:

Arrived very quickly. A perfect fit. Came with bearings, races, lug nuts and everything that was needed. Would not hesitate to order from Etrailer again, in fact, they are now my first stop when I need trailer parts.

by:

I used this to convert from 4 lug to 5 lug. Worked flawlessly. Everything lined up the same. Fit my Dexter brakes perfectly.

by:

Drum and drum assembly excellent, and at a very fair price, and the shipping was free because I was over their minimum price for free shipping. an order was delivered in 4 days.

by:

Very easy install. Dexter axle, dexter brake. Everything fit. It was easy to do.

by:

The Dexter drum is of very high quality. I'm adding it to a 2,000 lb trailer that has gotten heavier with several retro fits.

by:

Product as advertised, prompt order fill and shipping made it possible to meet my camping date. I will recommend etrailer to my freinds and use in the future if required. Thanks, jim

by:

The quality of the hubs seem on par. The races come pressed in and are even straight! This will work great with my trailer! As always the service has been great from eTrailer!

by:

Parts were exactly as expected. Online videos were perfect for showing proper installation.

by:

shipping was fast. received order way sooner than expected and quality of product was better than expected

by:

Works as intended.
