Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.
Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.
In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Fully welded vehicle trailer hitch is strong and durable. Draw-Tite's Tested Tough guarantee ensures that this hitch exceeds industry standards. The combination of an e-coat base and a powder coat finish provides excellent rust protection.Delivered on time, no missing parts, good instructions. Installation was relatively uneventful, especially doing it by myself, only took a few hours. After one year of several camping trips and twice checking the bolt tightness the hitch has not fallen off the good old 2008 4Runner! I recommend this hitch if it fits your vehicle and you do your homework prior to installation, like prepping the vehicle and watching videos of prior installations.
The receiver is installed & works fine, but it arrived bent (.5 inch on one side alone) & needed a good amount of straightening to get aligned. Very frustrating trying to install on 2008 4runner - I know it's not etrailers fault.
Directions are OK, video is for a Lexus & is similar but not the same - I would think with so many 4runners they could make a video for that specific vehicle.
Example: how to install assay bolts (never seen these before) not very clear -I found better info on [online]. On the 4runner I had to remove the whole rear bumper to remove the OE hitch. Live & learn.
Tip: If you plan on using the Curt Echo Blue-tooth brake controller, the driver-side tow-hook will make it a very tight fit to plug into the 7-pin.
I towed a 2012 Trailmanor 2720 (3000 lbs approx) for 250 miles with no problem, so far so good.
Overall the hitch looks great. I just wished it was padded with care for shipping. The shipping carton was torn in several places thus several areas suffered abrasion and paint peel. Ugh!! Common guys, how hard is it to throw in extra padding?!

After a year, the hitch is holding up great. The finish still looks like new. I’ve only towed a 2k lbs trailer once but mostly it was used for our cargo carrier for road trips.
came slightly bent because of delivery, box was damaged. other than that great product, great service.
Perfect fit for my Lexus GX470. My car is older with many bolts frozen so I was unable to install myself. I took it to local car repair shop and they installed readily. The rig is exceptionally sturdy and well painted. so far rust free after a year. I highly recommend.
I mounted this hitch on my 2008 4Runner limited v6. I did not have to remove spare tire or rear bumper fascia. I just used a 1x2 to hold the fascia off the bumper bar to make enough clearance to position the 2 handle nuts in the frame openings. I also did not trim the bumper fascia at all. One issue was alignment of the most forward bolts for which I used 2 wood clamps to slightly flex the side rail as I got the last bolt started. The hitch was not completely square I suppose. Of course the instructions did not mention what to do for something like this but this is no big surprise. I removed the 2 small brackets which hold the bottom of the bumper fascia in place and zip tied it to the hitch after it was installed. Also I had to trim some material from the back of my factory wiring harness housing as it did not fit in the hitch bracket initially. However it was only about 1/8" of material and is on the backside where it is not visible. Total install time was 2 hours plus cleanup time. E-trailer shipping time and communication was superb. Overall a good looking hitch which did not require trimming the rear bumper fascia and wasn't too bad to install.
After doing some research I found that this will fit on a 2020 4Runner (with the air let out of the spare tire and moving the trailer connections). Overall this is a straight forward install, although time consuming. My only complaint is that the mounting bracket is off slightly. This was overcome by using another reviewers hack with a 2x4 and the vehicles emergency jack.
This receiver mount arrived in a heavy cardboard box in good condition in a timely manner. The bracket for the electrical connector had poked through the cardboard and had some paint rubbed off and was a little tweaked from shipping. I easily straightened the bracket using a wood block and hammer after installing the hitch.
Installing the hitch was challenging in two ways: one, the factory threaded holes in my vehicle were a bit corroded so it was a bit difficult getting the supplied fasteners started. Two, the hitch itself didn’t line up with the vehicle holes on both sides. The rearmost holes were short by about 1 1/2 inch. I needed creative use of my vehicle’s bottle jack and a 29” Long piece of 4x4 lumber to spread the legs of the hitch to line up the holes. See attached photos. To deploy my jacking method you have to remove the spare. In general I recommend removing the spare tire to open your working space and to drop the exhaust out of the rear hanger mount to access holes on the passenger side of the vehicle.
These installation issues are expected when working on an older vehicle like mine (threaded holes exposed to the elements for 10 years ) and working with weldments. In particular, no matter how good your fixtures are, welding metal together causes heat warping. The holes in the hitch were are drilled correctly to size and lined up perfectly once deploying my solution with the jack. The great thing about steel is that it is easy to manipulate (ie. straightening the electrical bracket). I did this job alone in about 3.5 hours taking my time including cleaning the threads and finding and cutting the 4x4 scrap lumber to size.
Overall this is a good product at a reasonable price. The installation video covers everything you need to know except how to spread the legs to line up the holes or that you should pop the exhaust out it’s rear mount to give better access to the passenger side mounting holes.
I was debating between two hitches, then I realized what I got for the little difference in cost and went with the Draw-Tite.
First, it has a higher load rating than the competition.
Second, it includes the bracket for the 7-pin connector. The bracket is an extra cost option on the other hitch.
The installation went rather quickly given that I'd never installed a hitch before. The directions were clear and accurate, and I had everything I needed for the installation.
The hitch is a well-made beast of a hitch. The material is thick, expertly crafted and exactly as advertised.
I had two small issues during the installation. First the mounting flanges weren't quite square to the hitch, requiring me to use a clamp to pull the flanges into alignment with the mounting holes. Honestly, a trivial task.
Second was the nut-on-a-wire that had to be fed into the frame and positioned over the mounting hole with nothing but a relatively soft piece of wire to manipulate it. I had a bear of a time getting the first in place and the bolt started! The second nut-on-a-wire was slightly too large for the hole through which it was to be fed, but a few minutes with a grinding wheel and all is well now.
The q-tips on the ground were used to clean out the threaded mounting holes before mounting the hitch.
Product is as described. As with any hitch everything is out of whack and takes a little man power to install. Wish the trailer plug had some type of cover.
Toyota 4Runner Read carefully "This requires the rear fascia to be removed and reinstalled." is in the directions. I have a friend that knows how to install them so wasn't necessary.
If you don't know what you are doing pay someone.
All necessary hardware is there and product is as pictured. Pics are 2006 4Runner
etrailer.com is Awesome. Product shipped right away and was what is advertised. They actually upgraded me to 3 to 5 day shipping and received it in 3 days in Louisiana. Thanks Jordan.
This was a little disappointing, being the more expensive of the two receiver options I had.
They give you these “bolt blocks” on rods to feed into your frame rail/crash bar. Theyre big enough that they barely fit, however, and I had to get out my die grinder.
The wiring harness holder is a joke. The holes dont line up and to get it as close as I did I had to shave down a bit of the plastic housing.
Lastly the thing sticks out by enough that people need to watch their shins around it.
I wish they’d made it just a hair longer to fit all 4 rear weld-nuts. Seems like a missed opportunity for some extra strength.
That said it seems to fit pretty securely and I wont have any confidence issues towing with it.
Shipping was quick and order accurate. Hitch was boxed and through shipping, one of the electrical receiver arms was bent. Not an issue; bent back once hitch was installed.
Hitch “two” holes lined up with 4-runner frame. Single hole location had to be spread to align with frame. Took a few extra steps but was prepared because we watched a YouTube video of similar install. Hardest part was fishing the nut into frame and finding threads; took some patience.
Frame quality is top-notch. Great welds, thick carbon-steel material, exactly as described. Glad we went with the class III version. Would definitely recommend etrailer to others. Very happy with purchase.
Service after the sale was excellent too. Would go to these guys again.

It’s been a while since purchase and install. My son has moved a couple times since and we are still happy with this hitch. Having this on his 4-Runner has been great. Now he can pull moving trailers!!
Perfect fit and shipping was fast. Bought the drawtite over the curt because the curt brand blocks the plug to the trailer on my GX470. Drawtite relocates the plug socket on to the frame of the hitch. Only complaint would be is that one of the prongs to the bracket that holds the plug came bent and some of the paint was chipped. Probably UPS’s fault and not etrailer’s. Overall I’m satisfied with my purchase and would buy it again.
Great hitch for a great price. Ordered Friday and received it Wednesday. Fit was good. Entire install took about 2 hours. I didn’t have to trim any fascia tabs or plastic. The nuts it came with for the front bolts were the biggest pain. One side went in great, the other I had to take a bench grinder to as the plate the nut is welded to is too wide. The back bolts took a little ingenuity. I took the spare tire down and used a jack across the hitch frame to push one side into position, the other I used a ratchet strap to pull it back in place. An impact made easy work of the tow hook. All in all, it’s a good product, a little common sense helps the install go easier.
Fantastic help quick and easy great adv ise
Good quality easy to install fast shipp ing.

It has been working great, I like to know that I have a hitch that I can depend on.
shipped so fast!! Excellent quality hitch that fit my 4Runner perfectly!
Works great with good sturdy design. Would have given it a 5 star review if the instructions had been more clear and the installation video would have been available for a 4Runner instead of a Lexus GX470. I’m assuming many more drivers own 4Runners compared to GX470s. Although the install is similar, there are some key differences and I’m still really confused on what exactly I was supposed to do to trim the fascia tabs. Ended up just removing the fascia mounting bolts that seemed to be in the way and then pressing the receiver up against the fascia where the mounting tabs are.
The receiver came in was very easy to put in directions were online awesome
Excellent for my 4 runner. Had to crowbar against frame a little to get bolts in straight, but excellent product. Good instructions, tows great, solid.
I installed this hitch on a 2008 Toyota 4Runner V6, which did not have a factory tow package installed. Etrailer's website was very informative and easy to use.
Product was delivered complete and within the promised delivery date. I opted for ground UPS which was free. All pieces were accounted for and there was no shipping damage. The hitch was securely packaged and small parts were securely fastened to hitch.
Installation was straightforward, except for a slight misalignment between the 4Runnner's frame and the forward mounting holes. I had to use a clamp to slightly tweak the hitch so the holes would line up.
I also found that the access hole on the passenger side frame was not quite large enough for the handle nut to pass through, so i had to file down the edges of the handle nut to get it to fit through the hole.
Due to these issues my install time was several hours, but I would say that if everything fit the first time, then this is an hour job at most.
As others have pointed out, the hitch should be installed passenger-side first due to the muffler being directly under the mounting holes. I used a floor jack to support the hitch while tightening the bolts. The muffler can be moved out of the way somewhat by removing the rubber hangar. This enables you to use a socket wrench and torque wrench to attach the bolts.
I haven't towed anything yet, but I am confident the hitch will be up to the task.

The hitch has been great! Ive pulled a small camping trailer with my Toyota 4Runner about a half-dozen times over the last year with no issues whatsoever.
Only two things that prevent a 5 star rating
- packaging needs improved, item was bent from shipping requiring bending before installation
- should take advantage or more mounting on the truck, the Toyota OEM receiver has double the number of mount bolts, making it a more secure option.

It sounds like that the side brackets were knocked out of alignment which is why the bolt holes are not lining up. This can happen while in transit to our facility or to you. We do have a great FAQ that provides ways to move the brackets back into alignment so the hitch can be installed.

Did not fit my Lexus gx470. Holes did not align by over an inch for the M8 bolt on passenger side and only halfway aligned on driver side for M8 bolt. Extremely disappointed and now going to have to deal with returning. 0 stars if it was possible

It sounds like that the hitch side brackets may be flexed and is causing it to be out of alignment. We do have a great FAQ that provides ways to move the brackets back into alignment so the hitch can be installed.
