Does Trailer Hitch for a 2007 Toyota 4Runner Fit with a Spare Tire
Question:
Im looking at your hitch ion for my 2007 Toyota 4Runner 4x4. I have a few questions: 1. How does the hitch fit with the spare tire, which hangs under the rear of the vehicle? Do I have to store it elsewhere when the hitch is installed? 2. The descriptions say that some facia trim is required. Can you tell me where that trimming is supposed to be? After looking at the photos you have posted and measuring my vehicle, Im not sure where this would be required.

You do not mention which hitch you are considering, but I will assume it is either the Hidden Hitch Class III, part # 70779 or the Draw Tite Class III, part # 75155. I have added a link to a copy of the installation instructions for that hitch. If you refer to Figure 2, the view you see is looking at the bottom of the bumper. The darkened corner of that tab is all that would need to be trimmed. The instructions for the 4 runner make no mention of the spare tire, so I would assume that the spare tire does not need to be moved. During the installation, my installers will often remove the spare to allow for more room while installing the hitch, then reinstall it afterward.
