For your 2007 Toyota 4Runner, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13445. This Class III hitch is confirmed to fit your vehicle, and unlike the Draw-Tite model that you referenced, you will not need to do any trimming or modifications on the rear bumper fascia during installation. This hitch will use existing holes in the vehicle's frame for a no-drill installation and provide you with a 2 inch receiver opening.

I have included the complete written installation instructions so you can see exactly what is involved.

I have 2008 Toyota, 6 cylinder 4runner that has a simple weight carrying reciever boltled to the crossmember of the frame, rated for 500 lbs tounge weight and max of 5000 lb. trailer. My new single axle Salem travel trailer is about 3800 lbs., fully loaded. It tends to sway with crosswind and passing semis, which can be lessened with a simple sway bar but still wobbles making a trip somewhat tiring. I would like to swap out the reciever with a hitch that bolts to both sides of the frame of the 4runner and add a weight distribution hitch. Do you believe the Curt or Drawtite hitches would fit on my 6 cylinder (i.e. are the 6 and 8 cylinder frames the same?) and what WD hitch would you recommend?

@JohnZ Either trailer hitch will fit your 2008 Toyota 4Runner 6-Cylinder. Neither manufacturer limits fits due to the engine, so the frame at the hitch attachment points must be the same. Both hitches exceed your 4Runner's towing capacity, have similar installations, and will replace your factory hitch, so choosing either the Curt # 13445 or the Draw-Tite # 75155 will ultimately be personal preference. As for the weight distribution system, I like the Fastway e2 WD Hitch # FA92-00-0600 because it is weight-rated well for your trailer and offers a 2-point, friction-sway-control system to keep your trailer in line while towing. This system does not come with a hitch ball, so I have linked them in the correct shank size in case you need to pick one up. I have also linked some articles on choosing a weight distribution system that may be helpful for you
