Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2003 Ford Ranger

Easy to install considering it’s a 15 year old truck from MN. It’s really solid, glad I chose your hitch rather than using my step bumper.

Ken

Wasn’t looking forward to spending the money, but it is a fantastic investment, it is so much more solid than the step bumper I’ve been using for 15 years, end it is also at a better height for toy on my boat.

2006 Ford Ranger

I installed this on my 2006 Ford Ranger XLT (4x4, extended cab, V6 4.0L) earlier today, and I am extremely pleased with the results. It took me about 2 hours from start to finish. The hitch fit just right, and I feel very comfortable with the quality of the piece (even though I have not towed anything with it yet). I needed another set of hands when I bolted in the new hitch because it's pretty heavy, but other than that I could do everything on my own. I also had to drop the spare tire so that I had more room to work, but that is no problem at all. I did not have to do any drilling in my frame or the hitch. All in all I am very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to install a trailer hitch on their vehicle.

2008 Ford Ranger

I have a 2008 ranger 4x4. This set up was very easy to use and the video was very helpful since my mechanic skills are limited. If you have a full size spare tire which I did, you will need to remove before mounting the bracket. The spare will go back on but it will be a tight fit but will hold firmly. Make sure to look at the spacers to ensure you put the right ones in the right place. That was my only hiccup. I highly recommend this product because it was easy to mount and at a cost that was cheaper than other sites I went to.

This is the third time we have purchased a hitch from etrailer along with other products. Every time we have purchased from them we have been very happy. We really appreciate the helpful videos that show step by step how to install the products we have purchased. We also appreciate that they care enough to follow up and see how things are going.
We bought this to replace a Hidden Hitch that had been damaged due to and accident. The original had been on the truck for many year and served us well. We were glad to find this hitch and that it is exactly like the original. We like that, other than the receiver, the entire assembly hides up behind the bumper making for a very clean install. It is on a 2001 Ford Ranger with the Edge package. The truck has a full size spare and the hitch does fit well even with the full size spare. When you install the hitch removing the spare makes for a much easier install. The spare fits right back in place when you are done.
The hitch has been on the truck for about a year now. The finish has held up well and it does exactly what we need it to do.

Still working great and has held up very well.

Not even close to fitting. Box again torn and hardware missing. Also hitch wiring missing. They put a 60 pound piece of steel and the box is oversize and comes crashing thru during shipping. Previous order same problem. I took photos and sent but no reply. Called today just got music for twenty minutes...etrailer if you read this send my missing parts. It was sent bent or as they say flexed..

2005 Ford Ranger

I'm pleased with the simplicity of the installation process of the Draw-tite Max-Frame trailer hitch reciever on my 2005 Ford Ranger 4X4 pickup. After removing the original Ford bumper clip nuts and loosening one bumper brace for better clearance, the hitch assembly fit perfectly with holes matching and no need for drilling or modification. The installation was a 1 hour job done in my driveway......simple!

Miles

4/28/2023

The hitch and assembly for my Ford Ranger fit perfectly ad was simple to install by myself and with no special tools or retrofitting. The hitch does what it is supposed to do and even doubles as a connection point for yarding my annual firewood gathering onto a road or landing for ease of processing.

by:

At 1st I thought this hitch had the wrng hole patter, but I discovered the big openeingh allowed for the bumper to stay bolted on while I put this over it's mounta and the opening allowed enough room to then remove the original bolt once the hutches other bolts was attached and then lock them both down with the large rectangular metal flange that was provided to cover the large hole. Worked out very nice. The hitch also tucked nicely under the bumper and doesn't stick oput much at all, along with maintaining perfect access to the spare tire. Great - Thanks etrailer!

by:
2007 Ford Ranger

Hitch seems to be built very well and strong. I have a 2007 Ford Ranger Sport and had to lower the spare tire a bit to fit the hitch when mounting but was able to put the spare back in place once the hitch was in. My only minor complaint is that the receiver box on the hitch was slightly crooked when welded on but shouldn't effect use. Good shipping time and tracking information on package.

by:

Found the website through a Google search, easily found the trailer hitch I was looking for and purchased it. Shipping was super fast. Didn't take long at all to install on the truck even fit with the custom exhaust, fits nicely up under the bumper.

2002 Ford Ranger

Great product. Did have to drop the tire down and also the side bracket for the rear bumper had to be moved ( fords fault) still only 15 minuets install

by:

This is the fourth hitch I have purchased from etrailer.
The rest of the hitches have done really well. This one is already rusting around the welds and where the safety chains hang. Not sure if it was the primer or the paint but the hitch is rusting bad and the paint is flaking off. I have sprayed it with rust restorer and repainted it. But I am sure it will not last.
Pretty disappointed with this hitch.

Excellent product. Installed in minutes. 5 star service. I need a hitch for light duty towing and this will allow me to do it safely. I tried buying from another site What they sent arrived 2 days late in a box that was all taped together. The hitch was not even all the way in that box and looked like it was damaged. Add to this that no hardware was included and it would have not made a difference since this was not even close to being the correct hitch. ETRAILER sent me exactly what I needed in 3 days in a real shipping box. Combine the product with the service and communication and even add the tutorial videos they offer and there is no reason to buy any of your trailer and towing parts and accessories anywhere else. Buy with confidence!

1999 Ford Ranger

Drawtite 75082 install on a 99 ranger pickup was easy to install, fit to the frame was dead on with no issues . This hitch by design I think is stronger than some of the others for the same application because the rear rectangular tube goes through the side plates then welded, as compared to a rear tube that is just butt welded to the side plates. the spare tire I have is a 30x9.5x15 does not fit all the way within the brackets designed to secure the tire but the tire can be lifted up by the tire jack with no problems . shipping was free & the price was the best when I purchased .

2001 Ford Ranger

I bought this product to hold hitch accessories such as a bike rack and spare tire. The installation video was very helpful and I was surprised to find this resource specific to my vehicle (2001 Ranger). Installation should have only been a few minutes. My truck has been rear ended twice and the mounting holes didn't line up. This is not an issue with the product. I got it on there. Thank you!

After a year, the hitch reciever is working with no issues. I have had a Rigd spare tire carrier on it for the past year and havent had any issues. My spare is full size and not light weight.

by:

I received the tow hitch today in perfect condition. The installation was as described by e-trailer’s video. Perfect fit, spare tire was lowered to provide better clearance. Recommend getting assistance to hold in place while installing bolts and spacers.
Note:
If I can do this while laying on the ground, by myself and being 65+ you can too.
Thanks e-trailer

The hitch for my 2002 Ranger was delivered quickly and I put it on the same night, in the dark, by myself. Super easy and fit perfectly...couldn't have been easier. It is designed very well and works great, just like advertised. Used it today with a truck crane/hoist that fits into the receiver to lift heavy supplies into the bed.

Very satisfied with your hitch, it installed easily to my vehicle (2007 Ranger) exactly
as described in your product advertisement. I only need it about 1 or 2 times a
month, I have no problems. For the price of the equipment and the minimal time
for installation, it it was a far better deal than the price I had previously gotten from
a local garage. Thanks

In order to tow your trailer you will need to add a hitch to your 1997 Mazda B2300. I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75082.
