Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

2002 Jeep Wrangler

Front hitch was received in a timely manner. The Hitch itself does not line up with the bumper of my 2002 Jeep Wrangler X. It is close but no cigar. Will have to make some type of adjustment to align the bolts. This I thought was a bolt on installation. Disappointed but will keep the hitch. Hitch is to be used to move trailers and to mount winch that can be used on the front or rear of wrangler.

by:
2005 Jeep TJ

Perfect for what I need. Can adapt it for many different uses from winching, cargo carrying, bicycle carrier, or any other use my tinkering mind comes up with.

by:

I received the hitch but no mounting hardware, also probably due to shipping a bunch of the powder coat is chipped let's see what customer support does and I'll get back to you all

A lot of the time the hardware is tucked into the receiver opening. In the case that it is not I will have our Customer Service team to reach out to you.

1995 Jeep YJ

Easy bolt on and the side loops seem beefy enough to work as recovery points. I knocked a star off because the coating was flaking off to bare metal as soon as I removed it from the box.

by:
2001 Jeep TJ

Well built. The only negative is they don't include the proper front bolts for a Jeep TJ. They included 1/2 SAE bolts but TJ's use all metric bolts. Needs two 12mm bolts. The rear bolts were metric and correct size.

Fit perfect on 2002 Jeep SE, only took about 30 minutes to install. would took less time but my ratchet broke.....crappy modern Craftsmans tools. stay away from them

1990 Jeep Wrangler

I received it and it bolted right up to my 1990 Jeep Wrangler. I only needed to do a little trimming on the plastic cover which sits above the bumper to make sure it was down solid on the frame. I used my pneumatic cut off wheel to trim the plastic. It above the bumper so it is easy to attach my winch carrier.

by:
1997 Jeep Wrangler

Received this hitch yesterday. Bolted up to my 97 Wrangle with no problems. Fit and finish is perfect. I plan to use it mainly with an aluminum hitch hauler for some extra cargo carrying space. This thing is very solid and well built. The recovery hooks are a nice extra feature. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a front mount hitch.

Front Drawtite hitch for Jeep WranglerI ordered the Drawtite front hitch for my 1989 Jeep Wrangler and a hitch cover with a flag design. The product arrived promptly and the hitch went on quickly. The instructions provided by Drawtite were adequate, but the video posted by etrailer was excellent. I installed the hitch in about 30 minutes. The hitch cover was broken when I opened the box, but etrailer promptly sent out a replacement. I will definitely do business with etrailer again.

Bought this for my ‘03 Wrangler. Easy to install and works great for pulling, moving trailers around and installing my winch temporarily, when needed. My only regret is that I didn’t buy it sooner.

  • Front Mount Trailer Hitch Options for a 2007 Dodge Ram 1500
There are a couple of options for a front mount receiver for the 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 depending on the cab size. If the truck does not have a Mega Cab, use CURT Front Mount Receiver, # 31320. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you. Please note, if you have a Sport model, non-Mega Cab, you will also need a spacer kit, # 31320-SK. If the truck does have a Mega Cab you will need CURT Front Mount Receiver, # C31017. I have included a link to the installation instructions...

  • Recommended Front Mounted Trailer Hitch For A 1999 Ford F-53
There aren't any custom fit front mounted trailer hitches for a 1999 Ford F-53 so you'd need to use a hitch like the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver - Weld On # 41990-07 or part # 41990-16 for 16" tall brackets. You would need to reach out to a local fabrication shop since you'll have to get these welded in place on the frame and will most likely need to make alterations to the front fascia for access to the receiver tube.

  • Can a Tow Bar be Bolted to a Front Hitch to Flat Tow a 2002 Jeep Wrangler
To flat tow your 2002 Jeep Wrangler you would need to have base plates installed. A front hitch is not rated for this application. If your Jeep has a double tube bumper or U-channel bumper and does NOT have front leaf spring suspension you can use Roadmaster base plates # RM-521424-4. If you have a different bumper and/or front suspension let me know. For a compatible tow bar I recommend the Falcon All Terrain # RM-522. This is a non-binding tow bar meaning you won't have to be perfectly...

  • Mounting Bolt Placement When Installing Draw-Tite Front Mounted Receiver 65048 on 2006 Jeep Wrangler
That's a valid question. I just got done conferring with my contact in Tech Services at Draw-Tite, and he confirmed that the second or rearward bumper bolt is indeed omitted. The front mounted receiver's mounting flange provides more than enough reinforcement that the middle bolt isn't necessary. The height difference between the top of the frame member and the top of the bumper beam requires that 3 stacked round washers be used under the hitch mounting flange and one block washer atop...

  • Installation Position of Front Mount Hitch On a 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited TJ
The Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch, # 65048, will mount on the top of the bumper on your 2006 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited TJ. I have linked the installation instructions and an installation video for you to review. You will need to remove the plastic shield, OEM tow hooks, and upper bumper bolts, to install this hitch. • Which Front Hitch Fits 1998 Jeep Wrangler for Use with Snow Plow
Since your goal is to push a plow with a front hitch for our 1998 Jeep Wrangler you'd want the hitch part # C31028 instead as the Draw Tite # 65048 puts the hitch opening too high for a plow like the SnowBear part # SB324-080 to be used. In the install instructions there's no mention of needing to remove tow hooks so you wouldn't need to remove them.

  • Will Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch For 2006 Jeep Wrangler Support Snow Plow
Yes, so long as your snow plow and mount weigh a combined 300 lbs or less, the Draw-Tite front hitch that fits your 2006 Jeep Wrangler will indeed be able to support it. The correct part number for the hitch that fits your Jeep is the following: - Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver # 65048

  • How Does the Draw-Tite Front Hitch # 65048 Install on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ
To install the Front Hitch part # 65048 on your 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ you will use one of the holes on the bumper and then also use one of the sway bar bushing bolt holes. Check out the picture I attached for more info. I also attached a link to the installation instructions for you to check out as well.

  • Front Mounted Receiver Hitch That Mounts Under Bumper for 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ
We've got what you're looking for. The Curt Front Mount Hitch Receiver, part # C31028 mounts to the undersides of the frame members at the front of your Jeep so that the receiver opening is located under the front bumper, as you can see in the photo I've provided. If you need the front receiver to provide an attachment point for something fairly heavy like a snow plow, I'd also recommend the Timbren # TJFTJ springs which fit 4x4 models only. The Timbrens prevent the front end from sagging...

The Draw-Tite Front Mounted Receiver, part # 65048 has a GTW (gross trailer weight) rating of 3000 lbs, a straight line pull of 9,000 lbs and a vertical load capacity (maximum amount of weight that can be suspended from receiver) of 300 lbs. • Dimensions of the Draw-Tite Front Hitch 65048 for a Jeep CJ-5
I went out to our warehouse for you and measured the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65048. The actual cross tube is 28-1/4" long. The bolt holes are 31" apart on center and the outside to outside flange measurement is 33" long. I have attached a photo to assist. Unfortunately, I don't have any advice for using the above with a brush guard as we do not recommend doing so because as you mentioned, they mount in the same location. However, if you want to use longer bolts...

  • Recommended Front Mount Hitch for a 2005 Jeep Wrangler That Mounts Under Bumper
I do have a front mount trailer hitch for your 2005 Jeep Wrangler that can be mounted under the front bumper, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31028 (see photo) which is the only option that can be mounted in this way but the Draw-Tite Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 65048 installs above the front bumper.

  • Snow Plow Compatibility with 1991 Jeep YJ Wrangler
Both the Curt # 31408 and Draw-Tite # 65048 mount to the top of the bumper as you referenced. I believe you are correct that the hitch mounted snow plow won't work with these, because both SnowBear and Detail K2 snow plows we carry all use custom brackets versus a front hitch for your vehicle. I've linked the page to the snow plows compatible with your vehicle and all the SnowBear plows use the Custom Mounting Bracket Kit for SnowBear Hydraulic and Winter Wolf Snowplows # SB397-024.

  • Is Draw-Tite 65048 Front Mount Hitch A Fit For 1991 Jeep Wrangler
The Draw-Tite Front Mount trailer hitch part # 65048 is a designed to fit the 1991 Jeep Wrangler. The installation does not require drilling but does require some minor fascia trimming to the front of the Jeep. The only reason the hitch would not fit the Jeep is if the Jeep has a tube style bumper. I have attached an example of what a tube style bumper looks like. There are currently not any front mount hitches available for Jeeps with tube style bumpers because there is not a proper place...

  • Compatibility of Front Hitch on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler with Mountain Package
I looked up the Mountain addition for your vehicle and it didn't mention if it had an aftermarket bumper but it did state fog lights which may be an issue for mounting the Draw-Tite # 65048 hitch. Because these hitches are tested with the vehicle's base model and not all the trim packages, I would take a look at the instructions for the # 65048 and the Curt # C31028. These two carry the same capacity but mount in two different ways, you may have luck in one or the other. If you do indeed...

  • Recommended Front Hitch for a 1995 Jeep YJ
I have a solution for your Jeep YJ but it isn't the Curt front hitch # C31028 you were looking at. I don't show that as being a fit for your model. I would instead recommend the Draw-Tite # 65048 front mount hitch for your 1995 Jeep YJ. The Draw-Tite hitch will have a 2 inch receiver and 300lbs of vert pull and 9,000lbs of line pull.
