Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

All the hardware included. Perfect fit. Simple installation. I’m totally pleased with this hitch.

The hitch is solid and is perfect for my 4X6 garden trailer towing.

by:

Delivery was timely and installation was easy. I'm using the hitch for my bike rack which this hitch is perfect for. Everything fits perfectly.

by:

Really nice quality unit, easy to install fits perfectly and has held up nicely

by:

As other reviewers said, this hitch attaches with no difficulty. Perfect fit and was mounted in short time (maybe 15 minutes after I cleaned some road dirt out of the frame attachment bolt locations). As you might expect for a car that rides this low, the hitch receiver ends up pretty close to the ground, about 9 inches, (see photo). That makes my utility trailer ride a little low in the front, but quite usable. I tried not to use more hitch offset than was recommended.

Ordered the hitch to fit my exact car . Hitch came in a few days as stated . Was as easy as the video demonstrated to install . Will definitely order from etrailer again.

It’s perfect !! It has worked exactly as it was intended. Great purchase.

The Draw-Tite Hitch Receiver part # 24882 was a good fit for my 2016 Chevy Cruze LT (Limited). The 2015 Chevy Cruze "how to install" video on the etrailer.com website was very applicable for my 2016 Cruze. The installation was easy using 2 people.

by:
2013 Buick Verano

This is my 4th trailer hitch I’ve bought from etrailer and as always I am completely satisfied. Whether it’s been for a sedan, suv or truck the fit has always been perfect and the instructions exact and clear. And if you need more they have a lot of resources on the website. The only place to buy a hitch.

by:

This hitch was super easy to install and has worked great. I used it to tow my trailer behind my Cruze from Alaska to Arizona then Florida before ending in Ohio. It was around 8000 miles and worked flawlessly.

by:
2015 Chevrolet Cruze

It was easy to install, they provided all four fishing springs for fishing bolts thru frame. Made installation easy by myself. I’m a z75 year old retiree.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Cruze

This hitch saved me from having to buy a $40,000.00 or $50,000.00 truck.
I never need to carry very much weight but I do need to carry things that are too big for my car. Using a utility trailer does the job perfectly.

Looks good.

2011 Chevy Cruze

Installed the Draw Tite 24882 on a 2011 Chevy Cruz Eco in about 30 minutes. I have had a Thule 2 bike carrier for 10 years. It fits into a small reciever hitch. This is the third car it's been on. Took the bike to the trails already. No problems. I would note that the Cruz Eco sits low. The front end will bottom out on steep ramps or inclines. I have to cross them slow and sometimes at a 45% angle. This hitch doesn't seem like it would bottom out but the bike carrier might since it sticks out a bit. I haven't had that problem but I may throw the carrier in the trunk if I need to go up or down a steep ramp or driveway.

One year later I am still satisfied with this hitch. I have managed to hit the bottom of the bike rake on the ground when driving down a steep ramp onto a level road. If I make the transition at an angle there is no problem. Without the bike carrier it never bottoms out.

by:
2011 Chevrolet Cruze

Although I have not attached the bike rack yet, the hitch itself was very simply to install; I did it myself in the parking lot of my apartment complex. The videos on etrailer are extremely helpful with the installation process; without them I wouldn't have attempted to install it on my own. The printed directions that came with the hitch were, in my opinion, written for the Buick Verano because I did not have to lower my exhaust or cut the heat shield on my Chevy Cruze, which obviously made installing the hitch much easier and quicker. I would definitely recommend this hitch as well as a review of the installation videos available on etrailer.

If I had known then what I know now, I still would have bought the same hitch. Im very happy with it.Thanks!

It went on my Diesel Chevy Cruze hassle free! It is well built and the shipping was fast! I am towing a small motorcycle trailer and it has handled to great! I would recommend this product to anyone in the market.

Ted, we have a 2014 diesel chevy cruz and the def tank seems to be in the way of mounting the hitch. Did you have that problem? If so, how did you mount it?

Etrailer Expert

Rachael H.

7/9/2014

Ted indicated that the installation was hassle free. None of the installation instructions from our hitch manufacturers mention needing to move the DEF tank to install the hitch on a 2014 Cruze. We have not had any other customers indicate that they have had any issues with the installation, and at this time we have not had the opportunity to install a trailer hitch on a Diesel Cruze.

Justin

9/16/2015

have you noticed any issues towing the small motorcycle trailer with it? and do you happen to know the weight?

by:

Hitch hangs low to the ground line of the car. Depending on grade and what you install, it may rub on the ground. with a 4 bike kuat bike rack, the rack will touch of on the ground.

Etrailer Expert

Heather A.

12/6/2017

Rob,Thank you for your review. We normally do not recommend a 4 bike rack on a class 1 hitch. This hitch can handle up to 200 lb of tongue weight and the force of 4 bikes plus the weight of the rack may exceed that. We do recommend to carry only 2 bikes on the class 1 hitch. The 2 bikes should be closest to the vehicle. This may help with the bike rack rubbing the ground.

by:

easy enough to install, has given me absolutely no trouble.

by:

No complaints, the trailer hitch was easy to install. I did it myself in my driveway in about half an hour with no prior knowledge. In hindsight I wish I would have gotten a wiring harness on the same order, I didn't realize until I actually went to hook up a small trailer that it was not standard on my vehicle. Maybe this could be mentioned in the description

2014 Chevrolet Cruze

by:
2015 Chevrolet Cruze

Great product!! Was delivered within days of ordering -- the e-trailer on-line video was extremely helpful for the installation (way better than just the written directions / photos). My 15 year old son and I put it on our 2012 Chevy Cruze LT in a little under an hour from unpacking, to installation, to recycling the box in which it was mailed, to installing our hitch mounted bike rack, to leaving our house and driving to a nearby single-track with the bikes on the hitch-mounted bike rack.

by:

The hitch receiver was exactly as described, and was easy to install. Telephone support was excellent, and I appreciate that they followed up with me to ensure I was satisfied.

As others have said It has worked exactly as it was intended & Im still happy with this purchase.

I bought this for my daughters car. It was an easy installation. She’s been using it for her bike rack nonstop since it went on the car and loves it no issues with it coming loose or anything.
etrailer will definitely be my Go to for hitched and accessories before I shop anywhere else

  • Draw-Tite Sportframe Hitch on a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze LT
I'm happy to inform you that the Draw-Tite Sportframe, part # 24882, will fit on the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze LT. The differences between the LT and LTZ do not affect the mounting places for hitches, so the installation will be the same. You can use the video of the LTZ, which I've linked to, to aid you in your installation on the LT.

  • Trailer Hitch and Wiring for a 2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel Towing a Seadoo Spark PWC
For your 2014 Chevy Cruze diesel I recommend Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24882. This is a Class I hitch with a 1-1/4 inch receiver. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you. You can also see how much of the hitch is visible in the video. For a ball mount use # 3593. It comes with a pin and clip. For a 1-7/8 inch ball use # 19257. Or if the trailer requires a 2 inch ball use # 19258. And for trailer wiring you can use # 118508 to add a 4-Way flat connector to the rear...

  • Recommended E-Bike Rack for a 2014 Chevy Cruze
The only trailer hitch options for a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze are class I with 1-1/4" opening. For this, I recommend the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 24882. This as you have come to find out limits the type of bike racks that can be used. The best option we have for e-bikes with a class I trailer hitch is the Thule EasyFold XT Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes part # TH903202. It has a 65 lb per bike weight capacity.

  • Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2011 Chevy Cruze
The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, # 24882, does not require a stabilization strap when carrying non-trailer loads such as a bike rack. But it is a good idea on a class I trailer hitch just because it relieves some of the stress on the hitch. If you decide to use a strap, you can use # 18050. Since this is a class I trailer hitch, you will need to make sure your bike rack is compatible. Some racks cannot be used on a class I trailer hitch. If you find you do need a rack that is compatible with...
