Ordered for a 2024 Honda Accord Hybrid and it fits perfectly. Carrier feels solid and was easy to put together and mount on vehicle.

The rack is great just what I was looking for.
The only issue I see is the straps are plastic so after using them for a little bit they broke. I had to order replacements. Let’s see how much time they last!

Great bike rack. The cable and hook system is extremely strong and tight and being bike to open the trunk with the rack attached (but without bike) is a godsend for packing. Assembly is somewhat difficult due to Thule’s IKEA-style picture instructions. Watching the video is essential. Once assembled, however, attaching and locking the rack in place is pretty simple. Be sure to wash and dry hooks, bumpers, and car surfaces to avoid scratches!

2021 BMW X3

The rear hatch mounted rack fit my X3 just as your website indicated - the technician who described how this rack would fit. I'm impressed with how well it is designed to be stable and to not impact the plastic spoiler above the rear window.

Originally I was looking to put a hitch on my 2021 jeep renegade sport for a hitch mount bike rack, after seeing that I would either have to remove seam sealer and drill holes in my rear subframe (this is not a good option living in the rust belt), or remove my entire back bumper off and cut holes in it for the factory style hitch, and still have a rack that is illegal and blocks my license plate/brake lights turn signals I decided to look at different options. A roof rack is a little too high to lift a bike on comfortably. This thule outway platform 2 takes about 10 minutes to install correctly, and is solid and holds the bike securely, and the rack locks to the vehicle, and also the bikes lock to the rack no extra purchases required (comes with 2 keys and plastic spoiler supports). I have driven 80mph over potholes and bumps, also on extreme hills and has held securely.

  • Does Trunk Mount Bike Rack Need to be Removed for Hatch Access on a 2011 Honda Element
Yes, you will need to remove the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack # TH45JV from the trunk of your 2011 Honda Element before opening up the tailgate and upper door. This is the same case for all trunk mount bike racks on any vehicle. If you are wanting to have unrestricted access to the rear hatch area of your Honda Element without removing your bikes or bike rack then you can install a trailer hitch and use a swing-away bike rack. For this application I recommend the etrailer # e78KR which may...

  • Bike Rack Needed for 2 Bikes and Rear Hatch Access on a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe
I do have a great solution for you but trunk mount bike racks like the Thule OutWay # TH45JV you referenced need to be removed when opening up the trunk or hatch of your vehicle because it adds a bit of extra weight and the racks are meant to only hold bikes in one orientation. Although a roof rack and bike racks would eliminate the need to remove anything from behind your hatch we carry swinging hitch mount bike racks that allow you to gain full access to the rear of your 2018 Hyundai...

  • Bike Rack for a 2016 Honda Accord With Factory Rear Wing Spoiler
There are absolutely trunk mounted bike racks that are going to fit on your 2016 Honda Accord with a spoiler. You heard correctly about Thule bike racks, they are highly regarded for their quality. There is one specific Thule rack that will fit your needs perfectly; the Thule OutWay # TH45JV is confirmed to fit your Accord and is simple to set up as well as remove. This rack holds your bikes with an updated cradling system that has road dampening technology (RDT for short) so there is...

  • Can I Open Back Hatch of Mazda CX-30 with Bike Rack Installed?
It is common for people to raise their hatch with a trunk mount style bike rack still attached while the bikes are removed but we do not recommend it. The top strap would hold the bike rack in place while raising and lowering the hatch but we have been told stories of racks slipping and hitting peoples heads. The lower straps run the risk of coming loose so you will need to properly secure them once you are done. This may be a hassle if you plan on leaving your bike rack on and use your...

  • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2011 Toyota Venza
In my opinion, the best trunk mount bike rack that is available for the 2011 Toyota Venza is the Thule Raceway 2, # TH9001. What makes this bike rack rise above the others is the fact that it is so light, under 12 pounds, and has several useful features. These include anti-sway cradles and an integrated cable lock. But the best feature is the retractable cables. Out of all the trunk mount bike racks I have come across, the Raceway is the easiest to install and remove. The cables make installation...

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for 2016 Cadillac ATS-V
I have a bike rack solution I can recommend, but the V-models have exhaust clearance issues that prevent the hitches from installing. It's the same thing on the CTS models. The center exhaust prevents a hitch from fitting. The Thule OutWay part # TH45JV is a trunk mounted bike rack that would work well for you. What makes this rack far superior to the others is the attachment system. It uses only 2 rubber coated straps to attach to the vehicle rather than 6 nylon straps like other racks....

  • Bike Carrying Options for 2011 Honda CR-V
For exactly the reason you stated, Thule states that none of their trunk mounted racks will work with your 2011 Honda CR-V. Yakima states a few of their trunk-mount racks will fit. Occasionally, we will have one manufacturer state that the vehicle is compatible with a trunk mount rack, and the other will say that it is not. In that case, I typically do not recommend using a trunk mount. Installing a hitch and using a hitch-mounted bike rack would be your best bet. If you were only wanting...

  • Recommended Trunk Mounted Bike Rack for 2001 Volkswagen Beetle
Both Yakima and Thule tell me that there is no problem or issue in using a trunk-mounted rack with a 2001 Beetle. Yakima recommends placing no more than 2 bikes on the rack, while Thule makes no such prohibition. Since one manufacturer made that recommendation, I would recommend giving it consideration. To see the recommended racks, click the provided link. Of all the racks that are a confirmed fit, I can highly recommend the Thule OutWay. The OutWay uses only 2 rubber coated straps...

I checked with Thule and you need to install the lower hooks onto the lower edge of your trunk lid. Check out the video I attached. It is a different vehicle as yours but the installation process will be the same. Opening the trunk is required to get the lower cables in place. As thin as the hooks on the straps are they should not interfere with your trunk closing. You may want to check to make sure that just the hook is under the trunk lid. Yes, the arms of the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack # TH45JV can be adjusted independently to compensate for bikes without horizontal top tubes. Also, what makes this rack far superior to the others is the attachment system. It uses only 2 retractable coated steel cables to attach to the vehicle rather than the 4-6 nylon straps like other racks. This makes installation quick and easy and the cables also last longer. • Trunk Mount Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2014 Mazda CX-5
I checked with Thule to confirm and our fit guide does match theirs and the OutWay # TH45JV is a fit for the 2014 Mazda CX-5. However, the CX-5 is likely to have that top spoiler or trim piece at the top of the rear hatch. I recommend only 1 bike rack for vehicles that have that feature, the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top rack # HRF2.
