Recommendation For 2 Bike Rack on a 2006 Toyota 4Runner

If you have a 2 inch hitch on your 2006 Toyota 4Runner, if you do not have a hitch on your vehicle you can use the Thule OutWay 2 Bike Rack, part # TH45JV. This bike rack has a total weight capacity of 66 lbs with a limit of 33 lbs for each bike. This is one of the easiest bike racks to put on and take off of a vehicle. It uses ratcheting cables rather than flat straps like other bike racks. This rack is also very light weight at under 18.2 pounds.

If you will be carrying any bikes that do not have a top frame bar that goes straight across (like a typical men's bike would) then I recommend using bike adapter bar # 64005. This will allow you to carry those bikes more level and will provide better ground clearance. I have to use these adapters and without them my wife's bike would be at a severe angle and I would not be able to load my son's bike at all. I have linked a video showing how the adapter works.
