Will this rack work with the convertible version of the 2006 VW Beetle?

I would recommend a hitch and hitch mount bike rack for your 2006 Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible.
A trunk mount bike rack is not going to work because there is no safe place to secure the top straps on a bike rack on convertible models of the 2006 VW New Beetle.
The Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch, # 24679, along with the Swagman XTC-2, # S64670, platform 2 bike rack would be an excellent setup for transporting bikes with your Beetle. I have included some links of the hitch and the bike rack for you to view.
