  • Has furnace-brazed aluminum construction and 1-1/4" wide turbulator plates for more efficient cooling
  • Includes complete mounting kit, OEM spec hose with stainless steel clamps, Insta-dapt radiator adapter and hose-barb fittings
  • Sleek design makes this ideal for use in compact cars

Specs:

  • Inlets: 1/2" NPT
  • Fittings: 1/2" NPT x 3/8" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 11" wide x 3-7/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep
  • Distance between inlets: 8-7/8"
  • Mounting dimensions: 6-3/4" wide x 3" tall
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

One of the more popular cooling systems available, the radiator-style, plate-and-fin heat exchanger provides increased surface area so that fluids can spread out along the finned chambers to cool faster. In addition to the increased surface area, this cooler also features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

This oil cooler has really helped improve the oil pressure in my GEN III Hemi by reducing the oil temperate approximately 20 degrees cooler than before we installed it. Excellent product by Derale and service by etrailer.com.

by:

The cooler was easy to install, the instruction were easy to follow. I did check the oil temp after pulling a 4000 ft grade pulling a camp trailer with an electronic temp probe and there was a 50 deg temp drop thru the cooler.

My original transmission cooler sprung a leak on my 1990 dodge pickup and a direct replacement couldn't be found. Etrailer had a cooler that would fit and do the job. Would highly recommend them to solve your problems and supply what's needed.

Hose could be a little longer for non professionals cutting too short.
I would recommend buying extra hose too install. Overall easy too install and works great

Fittings came contaminated with metal shavings from machining and wouldn't even fit in to the cooler really poor quality. If this is in the fittings who knows whats in the cooler. Complete waste of time do not buy

  • Can the Average Do-It-Yourselfer Install a Transmission Cooler on a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country
Installing a transmission cooler is not very difficult and I have every confidence that you will be able to install the Derale Transmission Cooler, # D13611, on your 2007 Chrysler Town and Country. Make sure you have the necessary tools. Your mechanical skills should serve you well for this installation. I can give you some installation tips. Transmission coolers are designed to be mounted flush against either the radiator or the AC condenser core. For maximum cooling ability, the heat...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2003 Honda Pilot
If you're not planning on towing frequently at or near its 4500 lb capacity or in mountainous areas, the Derale # D13611 you'd looked at would be an excellent choice. The cooler is a plate fit design, which offers extremely high efficiency in a small package that won't take up much room on the front of your radiator. If you'll be pushing the vehicle harder by towing more frequently and planning on running up and down hills, a larger cooler like # D13502 would be a better choice. Unless...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation and Installation on a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 4.7L
The plate-fin transmission coolers are more efficient than the tube-fin transmission coolers. Both types of coolers operate the same, but the plate-fin coolers uses smaller plates to allow more fluid to contact the aluminum surface inside the cooler. More surface contact results in greater heat dissipation. I have attached two FAQ articles on transmission coolers for you to check out. When choosing a transmission cooler, we always recommend installing the largest transmission cooler...

  • Transmission Fluid Temperature Gauge and Cooler Recommendation for a 2013 Dodge Caravan
For a temperature gauge you could use to monitor the temperature of the transmission fluid in your 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan I would recommend the # D13009 for a mechanical gauge. This will require you to drill into the transmission pan to install the fitting and sending unit. I attached a picture that shows how it installs on a transmission fluid pan. For a transmission cooler to help reduce the temperature of the tranny fluid you could use the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission...

  • Best Transmission Cooler Fit for the 2010 Mercury Mariner & 2011 Ford Escape
The best transmission cooler that will fit and works best for your 2011 Ford Escape and 2010 Mercury Mariner is the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets, # D13611. This fan measures 11" wide x 3-7/8" tall x 1-1/4" deep to provide the correct fit on your vehicles. This cooler works the best because it features turbulator technology, whereby fluids are agitated continuously, not only to facilitate heat transfer, but also to prevent any undesirable drop in pressure.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2006 Saturn Vue 4WD
Although the Derale # D13611 transmission cooler would work well with your Saturn Vue, we typically recommend using the largest cooler that will fit behind the grille of your vehicle. The ideal mounting location is directly behind the grill, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser. Because a transmission cooler allows airflow through it, there is not a worry that it will block or hinder the operation of the radiator or condenser behind it. A larger cooler like part # D13502, which measures...

  • Can a 2006 Buick Lucerne Tow an 800 Pound Trailer without a Transmission Cooler
According to the owner's manual for the 2006 Buick Lucerne it has a gross trailer weight capacity of 1,000 pounds maximum. It does not say that a transmission cooler is required. However, a transmission cooler is always a good idea, especially when towing, to keep the fluid cooler so the transmission is less likely to get damaged or wear out any faster than normal. If you do decide to install a cooler the most popular option for models with the 4.6 liter V8 is # D13503. And we also recommend...

  • Bypassing OEM Radiator on 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
The Derale transmission coolers we sell are intended as a supplemental cooler that is meant to augment the factory transmission cooler portion of the radiator, not replace it entirely. • What is Required for Towing a Trailer w/ a 2004 Honda Pilot
I looked up an online version of your 2004 Honda Pilot's owner's manual and it states that additional transmission and power steering coolers are required to tow. It also states that a trailer that weighs 1,000 pounds or more should have its own operating brakes. I've attached an article on coolers that you might like. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2002 Ford Explorer
The best way to pick out the best transmission cooler is to measure the area in front of your radiator to see what size cooler would fit and pick the biggest size available. The Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13611 is a pretty small cooler, but if you have limited space it would help and it does come with an installation kit. I would recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13502, for your 1997 Honda CRV. This cooler will be more than adequate for towing the weights you will be towing. You can not cool transmission fluid too much so the larger the cooler is, the better. We have a video installation of this cooler on a 2006 Honda CR-V that will be very similar to the installation on your 1997 model, see link. • Aftermarket Transmission Cooler Installation for Mitsubishi Vehicles
It would not surprise me if Mitsubushi OEM transmissions had a function that stopped the flow of transmission fluid out of the transmission when the transmission is cold. I do not believe that this option would be installed outside of the transmission, because there would need to be a bypass hose and valves in the transmission output and return lines, causing a complicated installation at the factory.
