Recommended Transmission Cooler for 1994 Nissan Pathfinder
Question:
I am going to be towing with my pathfinder and I want to make sure i do everything i can to prolong my automatic transmission. Which model do you think i should buy? and then there is the install :

I typically recommend choosing the largest transmission cooler that will fit into the available space. The best place to install a transmission cooler is directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator and A/C condenser.
Choosing the largest available cooler like part # D13503 is a good choice, because you cannot over-cool a transmission. The cooler measures 8 by 11 inches, and is 7/8 of an inch thick.
The cooler installs inline with the transmission return line that runs from the radiator back to the transmission.
I have linked you to some FAQ articles and install videos you might find helpful. The videos show a cooler being installed on a different vehicle, but the video should provide you with a good idea of what the install involves. If you do not feel comfortable completing the install yourself, any mechanic should be able to easily complete the installation.
