Works Great! I use all the time when I need to test trailer lights and brakes.

by:

Works great to hookup to my farm equipm ent.

by:

This HOPKINS product 47595 is exactly what I was looking for and thank goodness it is carried by ETRAILER.COM. Reasonabley priced on this quality product, i couldn't be more pleased. Attached to my seven pin flat to round pin trailer plug and all works. ETRAILER.COM kept me informed with emails and a courtesy phone call on shipping. GREAT company, will be doing business in future with ETRAILER.COM.

by:

I have a couple of different trucks and trailers with different plug configurations. Seven way round and seven way flat ( RV ) this adapter was wired correctly, was just what we needed.

by:

This works perfectly and is small enough to fit in your glovebox or job box so you always have it when needed. I use it for one trailer so I do not have it mounted but more as a work around since that trailer is only used several times a year. Save yourself the headache of wiring and purchase this.

by:

I purchased this adapter because I didn't have time to assemble one myself but it didn't work. It was not wired correctly! When I tried backing up with the electrical plug connected, it applied the brakes and wouldn't allow me to move the trailer without disconnecting the plug. Once I got the wires in the right place it worked fine. The wires are all a heavy guage and it has the rubber boot to cover the screws on the back side of the vehicle plug. Very pleased once we got the wires in the right place.

by:

The product worked, but the metal end cannot be attached to the bumoper of the truck becuase the wiring between the connectors is not near long enough.

I would like to see a similar connector made with both ends made of rubber so that it does not need attached to the bumper and then it will not mar the bumper when attached to a trailer.

by:

great customer service kept me informed about the delay with the product just hated the amount of time it took to get the items in Stock and shipped out to me but i understand that is beyond your control

by:

etrailer.com is awesome, package was stolen out of my mailbox, and once I filed a police report, they shipped me out a replacement at no cost and the item received was of great quality

by:

Adapter just arrived this afternoon. Have not hooked up the trailer yet but it looks like it will probably fit. Will try it out this weekend and let you know if there are any issues. Thanks for getting it to us in a hurry, thanks for the great customer service.

Just fine, no problems.

by:

Basically they built what you could build yourself. You could buy the parts and take the time to build it but you would not save money or time or be able to build it any better. They only con would be the 7-way pin plug is bulky since it was intended for a vehicle application and to be bolted in. They used the best parts I have seen available and have a good build quality. Buy it if you need it, it's worth it!

by:

Hard to find this anywhere else, I'm glad etrailer had it. We use it to hook our hay baler and shredder lights up to the truck instead of the tractor. We've already ordered more after the first one so we can have one for each truck.

by:

The online diagrams made the correct adapter choice easy. The wiring adapter worked perfectly right out of the box. I later needed a second adapter for a different application and it was perfect as well.

by:

Although the order was held up for some reason and then snow caused a delivery hold up, I finally got the part and it is exactly what I needed. I haven't had the need to use it yet, but the problem I purchased it for is resolved. So unless there is some sort of manufacturer fault, I can't see any reason this adapter wouldn't serve the purpose I bought it for. I would certainly suggest & buy other trailer needs from etrailer.com again.

by:

It worked out perfectly, I have to transport a borrowed telephone pole trailer from out line workers training back to PPL and to able to use the trailer light is a biggie

by:

Works great... I pull a lot of farm machinery with my pickup truck and all farm plugs are 7 way round. With this adapter it just made things easier...

by:

Seems hard to find noting that the round pin plug is definitely larger tractor trailer style would have eased a bit off concern. But it was exactly what I needed

by:

Great idea! Adds flexibility to towing various trailers. The mechanics at work made their own for about the same price I paid, without spending the time for assembly.

by:

Just as described. Works great. Saves a lot of hassle rewiring the trailer plug if you are borrowing it from someone else.

by:

Great product just what I needed could not find any where elsebut e-trailer had it very knowledgable and helpfull staff.fast delivery

by:

Exactly what I needed to be able to connect to my heavy equipment trailer. etrailer is always my go to company for anything trailer related. Never had a problem and always receive my products quickly.

  • Availability of Wiring Adapter to Convert 7-Way RV Connector to 9-Pole Round Pin on 1984 Jayco
9-pin connectors are rare these days. We do still offer vehicle and trailer side connectors of this type, such as # PK12907 and # PK12906, but we do not have any adapters that can convert your truck's 7-way blade-style RV connector to a 9-pole round pin type. A 9-pole connector like # PK12906 has two extra circuits (auxiliary on the gray wire and reefer on the orange) that would not be supported if fed by a 7-way socket. You'll want to swap out the truck connector using part # PK12907.

  • How to Install Trailer Wiring 7-Way on Older Truck with Separate Turn Signals from Brake Lights
You'll first need to install a 4-way on your truck that is designed to take separate turn signals and convert them to combined. For that you'd want the part # 119250KIT which will give you a 4-way that has combined circuits. Now if your trailer does not have brakes all you would need is the part # 37185 as an adapter to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. If you do have trailer brakes you would need the # ETBC7 instead of the # 37185 and a brake controller. This kit comes with everything...

We do offer quite a few types of trailer wiring adapters/extensions that can be seen by clicking on the linked page. Just select the vehicle end you need (we offer both 7-way round and 7-way flat blade style connectors) and then the other end you need. For a 7-way round pin to a 7-way blade you can use # HM47425. Or for a 7-way blade to a 7-way round use part # 47595 or # F77R. These products feature one male and one female connector. We do not have a male 7-way round pin to female 7-way...

  • Parts Needed to Convert From 7-Round Pin on Trailer to Connect to 4-Flat on Vehicle
The best solution for you, since there are no plug-in adapters to connect to your vehicle's 4-flat with a 7-round, is to remove the (soon to be obsolete) 7-round on your trailer. Since you have a 4-flat on your vehicle and only need those functions you will cut off the 7-round and install the Wesbar 4-Pole Flat Connector w/ Jacketed Cable - Trailer End - 4' Long # W787264. You will simply wire the connector by function using Butt Connectors # DW05744-5. I have added a link to a help article...

The 4-Pole to 7 and 4-Pole adapter # 37185 uses blade style pins. I have included a picture for you to view. If you need to install a 7-Way round pin vehicle side connector you can use # PK11720. You will need to hardwire the wires to the back. You will also need rubber boot # PK11761 and mounting bracket # PK11771. Or you could install the 37185 and use an adapter to go from the 7-Way blade to a 7-Way round pin, # 47595.

  • How to Plug Lance Camper With Lance Plug Into 7-Way Blade on Truck
I do have a solution, but since Lance has their own plug design there are no adapters that will work, including the # 47595. The best option is to replace the lance plug with a standard 7-way blade connector like the # PK12706. This will eliminate the need for an adapter since you can plug it in directly after replacing the connector.

  • Adapter for Trailer with 7-Way Round Connector and 2012 Honda Ridgeline with 7-Way Blade Connector
It sounds like the connector on the boat is an adapted 4-Way to use with a 7-Way round pin trailer connector on a vehicle. That would be why there are just 4 pins, 3 for the lighting functions and 1 for ground. If that is the case then the 7-Way blade to 7-Way round adapter, # 47595 should work just fine. Most boat trailers have the basic lighting functions but do not have the components that require the other circuits such as 12 volt accessory power and electric brakes.
